After power on my eMachines C6537, there is no beep sound and nothing shown on screen. The CPU fan and fan in the box are working. The HD drive spin sounds normal. No problem to open doors of DVD and CD player. I also tried to power on after unplug power/IDE cables of those 3 peripherals (HD, DVD, CD), still no beep sound, no bios message. I suspect the problem on power supply, motherboard, or CPU. Any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Disconnect the power cable open the case and pull the CR 2032 battery out for a minute. That will reset the BIOS. If you have no Beep Codes at all the MoBo might be dead. If this were just a video issue there'd be Beep codes. If there's more than one stick of RAM Pull one try to boot then do same with second stick. if there's only one stick of RAM try reseating it.

You power ratings are ok on the main power supply. But you should check the volts on the internal and see what is happening.

SOURCE: System will not power on.

Hi Robert,

Have you checked to see that there is no cabling of any sort in your machine that may be brushing with the side panel when it is closed? I'm thinking maybe a GRND pin from either the front panel connectors or a USB connector but this is only a guess. I am unsure why a panel could stop it turning on! Let me know if its resolved! :o)

pull out the cpu chip and see if it comes on or beeps,
If it dont its the mobo.

Sometimes the mobo and the cpu go bad at the same time, a bad cpu can kill the mobo

Power supply fan works and the cpu fan works but nothing else. then the power button is on

So you get no screen.See if during boot your keyboard 3 lights in the top right flash. Does your floppy enable? Do you get any sound from the internal speaker? If so, count the beep sequence and write it to me. That is the lowest form of diagnostic. Certain beep codes tell certain things about Video cards, memory and totally nothing would usually mean CPU. Your fan may have shut off for a while and burned it out.

When I power up my computer, it keeps making a beeping sound, and nothing on my screen.

Open cpu cabinet.
Reattach the ram memory.
Open processor and its fan then put both into it's position.
Make sure motherboard is not ground with cabinet.
Reinsert VGA card and PCI card if any.
Also make sure your RAM memory working fine try another ram.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
Thanks for using FixYa.

Computer powers on, but does not boot on an emachines t3624. replaced the power supply

If the fans come on and BIOS does not post (initial screen upon power up), you likely have a mainboard or CPU issue. If a chip fan failed, or your box overheated, your CPU could be fried. Or possibly something on your motherboard got taken out due to lightning, a faulty power supply, etc. If this is the case, you're in bad shape as you're probably dead in the water and need a new MB/CPU.

If you are hearing any beeps upon power up, another hardware device such as memory or a video card (even a defective drive) could be the culprit. If you can try swapping out components to find the one that's causing the failure, and replace that component.

Emachine will not power up

By nothing else, from a technical standpoint this would mean literally nothing, the CPU fan, power supply fan, aux fan, disk drive not spinning up, etc. My experience with EMachines is their motherboards aint the best, have been known to take out hard drives and other peripherals to the mother board. If you are technically inclined the first thing to do is to bare out the system, Power Supply attached to the Mother Board w/ Cpu Monitor and Keyboard no Hard Drive and no Non esential boards installed, very carefully remove the memory and start it up all should be fine except it should give you a long beep from the PC Speaker indicating the Mother Board is aware there is no memory installed if it will not do this most basic of tests this is not good. If it does give you a health beep continue to install one item at a time, first the memory, the display should, if working, tell you there is a boot failure, of course, the hard drive is not connected, do so and keep on testing. Without knowing what type of mother board you have, most likely an AT with integrated peripherials the process to determine exactly what the problem is would take hands on trouble shooting. If you dont get the beep indicating the mother board cant determine if memory is installed and truley nothing else is on it is more likely the mother board. There are several good ones online that will fit your case if you want to go this route. Or is it time to upgrade ?

Emachine wont start

remove all external and internal peripherls.

example for external: mouse, monitor, keyboard, printer.

Internal: hard drive, memory modules, video cards, modem (if there's any), optical drive or dvd drives.

just leave the motherboard, power supply and processor intact, try turning on the computer with out those components mentioned. see if you get a beep sound before it turns off, but if not the most logical part that needs to be replaced on this type of problem is the power supply if that doesn't work the next thing to do is replace the motherboard. hope that helps

hit me back on the results. thanks!

EMachine T3406 wont boot

is there a post beep when the pc is switched on. check the memory if it is a beep beep beep sound , also disconect the hard drive, dvd drive, floppy, and any usb devices and see if it boots up. if that fails it does seem like the mother board, also check the cpu fan has it stoped. also find out the power switch conector on the mother board, from the base unit switch to the mother board. also chech the power connector from the power supply to the mother board , on newer boards there are two that go to the mother board its self , a big one and a very small one .

GA-MA790FX-DQ6 Mobo not POSTing Should i reset the bios??

no beeps, indicates you have faulty CPU or mainboard.
  • remove all components even RAM and CPU.
  • insert only CPU and Speaker (without RAM or any other componet).
  • Boot and try to hear, there must be long beep for missing RAM, if not then try to re-insert the CPU or change the CPU/Mainboard.

Thanks and Good Luck
