Sony Marine stereo CDX-R30M keeps shutting off after about 10 minutes of being turned on. It doesn't matter if the CD player is playing or the radio. Then we try to turn it on again and it plays for about 2 minutes or less then shuts off again. Any suggestions on what is causing this?

Does it shuts down with engine running? Most marine stereos have low voltage protection. If battery goes low then stereo shuts down to protect your batteries. Try to run engine or battery charger and test your stereo. If still shuts down that would indicate overheating protection kicks in. There is many possibilities for that. From shorted speaker wire, incorrect speaker wiring to internal problem with the unit.

SOURCE: Cannot play my portable audio device with Sony cdx c500x

The multichanger has to be connected, with a cd in, but then the head unit will play whatever is fed to the bus in sockets. This effectively means the multichanger is playing to itself. If you want both to work, use a pair of piggy back rca leads into the head unit, one to the cd, one to the mp3. Then break into the cd leads and feed one of the pairs, one +ve, one -ve to a double pole switch so that you cut the sound from the cd allowing the mp3 in. To play cd's, flick the switch.

My Sony CDX-M610 will play radio but not CDs

THE CDX-M610 LIKE ALL OF THE CDX-M630, M800, M850MP SHOULD ALL SIMPLY START TO PLAY THE CD WHEN INSERTED. BECAUSE YOU ARE ABLE TO TUNE RADIO STATIONS AND HEAR THEM PLAY SHOWS THAT YOU HAVE EVERYTHING IN PLACE AND ARE DOING EVERYTHING RIGHT. SO IF IT IS NOT PLAYING, THEN IT WILL NEED TO BE SERVICED. AS FOR THE REMOTE, IT IS NOT REQUIRED OF ANY OF THE CD PLAYERS IN ORDER TO PLAY CD OR TUNE RADIO STATIONS. RATHER THAN INVEST IN REPAIRING, I WOULD LOOK FOR ANOTHER MODEL ON EBAY USED AS IT WILL PROBABLY GO PRETTY CHEAP. ALSO HAVE CHANCE TO GET A HIGHER MODEL LIKE THE ONES I MENTIONED ABOVE. I HAVE SEVERAL OF EACH IN MY COLLECTION AND THERE ARE NICE PLAYERS. OK. HOPE THIS HELPS.....V

Sony XPLOD CDX-GT200 CD Player keeps going back to demo mode

This is happeneing because the stereo does not have a battery power connections. The yellow wire is for a constant 12 volt connection. This connection is for the stereo's memory.
