Missing or invalid processor microcode update. Please contact HP company for a new microcode update to support the new processor stepping
Hyjackers from 2010 to 2019 ? Amr Fouad and Hamaam45 want more answers really? why mess with junk like this?????? this error happens only if you put the wrong CPU chip in the motherboard it does not just pop up like magic. all PCs have qualified, CPU chip list. the problem is this PC is a relic, d530 PC omg DELL has one too... what odd. that is. as old as 2002 made, 17 years old today, a true useless relic if ever there was., and has zero value on the street. zero. nada. the last bios update happened in 2005, quote: Updates Intel Pentium 4 Processor microcode for F41, F34, F29 and F49 steppings. HP has that list, not me, not here. proof is here, 100% proof. click BIOS then fixes icon and read.

the fastest one sold then 2002 was this... (seen in the HP parts surfer page) Intel Pentium 4 processor - 3.20GHz (Northwood with Hyper-Threading, 800MHz front side bus, 512KB L2 cache, FCPGA2, Socket 478) -
code what does that mean, answered
if you put in a newer generation CPU
it has and expanded instruction set (CISC)
the BIOS must support that or it will fail.
so on top class motherboards(not this old relic)
we get lots of BIOS upgrades (even 3 years later or more, like HP enterprise systems get)
like my Z270prime has. they keep adding newer processors in the valid 2 families of my mobo
gen 7 and 8 in my case not yours.
This happens on top brands on PC not those cheap stripper models and for sure not relics like this.
Recommend building new PC, using top brands of Ausu mobo.
or and HP z600 or up.
or Dell optiplex 990 up,
Up means 2 things, 2010 or newr
and for sure, CORE processors, (not core2, or duo)
gen 7 up.
leave the chaff to the likes of, Goodwill(tm)stores....

SOURCE: 1801 microcode update Error missing or invalid
This usually happens when a new system pcb is installed in the unit if you go to hp web site and go to support and drivers. Then select download drivers and software then enter the model number then pick OS the BIOS you will be given the Microcode.
Note there are many ways to update easiest is to find the usb boot disk as most pc dont have fdd's any more .
