SOURCE: restore to factory specs

The Optiplex series of systems have no restore partition to re-image the system. If you want to have a clean start, you will need to do a clean install of Windows, load the drivers and applications.
Drivers can be downloaded from Support.dell.com but you will need the media for Windows and any applications.

Dell Optiplex SX260 was turned off last night. This morning it will not power up. The PSU, located in the brick, has a green light and reads positive on an electric tester placed near it. We have even...

There are a few things that you can check for in this case. On the back of your computer, often times there will be a switch located somewhere near the spot that you attach the power cable. This can accidentally be switched off. If not that then you may have a faulty power supply (which is easy to replace). This is the unit inside the computer that converts the AC from your outlet to useable DC and supplies it to the drives, motherboard, etc. etc. It is not the easiest thing to test but is likely the culprit.

DOES THE OPTIPLEX 260 HAVE A PORT FOR A HEADSET?

Yes. If you look on the back, there is a green circle for speakers. Heatsets can go there too, but it is not convenient...

However, what IS convenient is on the front. The small gray area (witht he DELL circle icon on it) actually opens from the left side to reveal an audio out, Mic in, and 2 usb ports... (if I recall correctly. it might be 1 port, but it DOES open up)
