    Hi,

    I was looking for a solution to my problem with a Mitsubishi Model# ws55807. I push the power button, to turn TV on a small click with the green light comes on, another click 1 sec. later turns it off(NO picture).

    I found you on Fixya~YOU Wrote to someone else, and I tried your suggestion and did the self-diagnosis feature to help with diagnosis of shutdown problems.  I got a 2-2 pulse .   2 - 2 = Short protect (short protect monitors low voltage supplies)

    Can you tell me what part that would be and it approximate location for example when you open the back of the TV would it be on the immediate right hand side or ....etc.

    I would appreciate any help

    Thank you.
    Girl

    I have the very same thing going on with my TV. I didn't do anything with it for a long period of time and one day I turned it on just to see what it was doing and it worked. I am on Comcast On Demand cable and I thought that it was a cable problem. It just went into that black screen mode again. The little green light comes on for a couple of seconds and then... nothing! Whats up with that? My TV was purchased new in Nov 2000. Never had any trouble with it before! I bought it from Goods Guys out of Olympia WA and now they are out of business!

Good Day, Y'all;

First check for fluid on the PCB's, if ok check the following:

This model is equipped with a self-diagnosis feature to help with diagnosis of shutdown problems. To activate this turn the unit on let it shutdown then press the input/device and menu buttons on the front panel simultaneously and hold them in for 5 seconds after 5 seconds the power LED on the front panel will blink a two digit sequence. This will be one set of blinks a short pause then another set of blinks, this will repeat 5 times. 1 - 2 = no error detected 2 - 1 = X-ray protect (high voltage or beam current) 2 - 2 = Short protect (short protect monitors low voltage supplies) 2 - 3 = Deflection protect (this could be loss of vertical or horizontal deflection) 2 - 4 = Vertical protect (usually loss of vertical from the source) 1. SELF- DIAGNOSIS INDICATE X-RAY. CHECK FOR A SHORTED IC5A03 PART # 270P704010 AND AN OPEN R5A73 82K ¼ WATT OFF PIN 2 OF IC5A02 ON THE MAIN PCB. 2. SELF DIAGNOSIS ERROR INDICATES SHORT PROTECT. CHECK FOR OPEN FUSES F9A04 AND F9A05 PART # 283P043090 ON THE +24 AND -24 VOLT LINES. IF THE FUSES ARE OPEN THE CONVERGENCE OUTPUT CIRCUIT WOULD BE SUSPECT. 3. SELF-DIAGNOSIS INDICATES SHORT PROTECT. CHECK FOR A SHORTED IC4B01 PART # 270P261020 (VERTICAL OUTPUT) LOADING 24-VOLT SUPPLY LINE. LOCATED ON THE MAIN PCB. Good Luck, big IRISH. PS If too much call an authorized service center and have them give an estimate on their repairs in writing.

TV won"t stay on turns off in 3 seconds WS 55807

Do the self check when power light goes off.

On front of set press and hold both the menu and input buttons for 5 seconds or longer and release both buttons.

Power light will blink a error code like: 2 blinks, 2 blinks, a pause and repeat about 4 more times.

Let me know what error code you find and I will tell you what it means.

If this information told you something rate this solution as very helpful as I do this here for free.
