I have a symbol LS4278 scan gun. When I place the gun in the cradle it blinks with an amber light. In the documentation that says that it has a "Critical battery temperature fault". I replaced the battery with a new one but it still does the same thing. Could it be that the cradle is no good, or maybe a problem with the scanner itself? Thank You.

this seems to be an error with the charging system of the scanner. As you stated the error occurs also with other battery. Just check if the scanner is in warranty and send it for repair.
It could work also with this error, but the charging will not work correctly. As the temperature error is safety measure which stops the charging until the status get changed.
