The card reading error appears when the card is locked by the side button ..and you try to make an operation forbidden by this locking action ...another thing may be a reading issue based on the card reader driver malfunction ...so reinstalling the card reader will be a point to start ..after that be sure that the card is not physically locked by the side slide button ..and the last thing be sure the files are not protected...another issue that may cause the error is the contacts of the card itself ...insert it proper and be sure they are not oxidized ...
If you do not have important files on it ..a formatting will be a good thing to do ...

Camera won't read SDHC card, says card error when trying to format

If you look at the spec, it will only take an SD card, not an SDHC card. SD cards max out at 2GB.

How do I get my camera to accept my sd card? It will go in, but my camera will say card error, and won't do anything.

You don't say what exact type your camera is, but the most likely problem is that your camera is only compatible with SD cards, not SDHC cards. You bought a larger card for your older camera, not noticing that it was SDHC (or not knowing that it mattered). The new card doesn't work, not because it or the camera is broken, but because it's not compatible.

Cards up to 2Gb are generally SD.
Cards of 4Gb are generally SDHC.
Cards over 8Gb have to be SDHC.

(There are exceptions. Sometimes, manufacturers make 4Gb SDHC cards but some have errors; they disable half of the chip and sell it as 2Gb, but it's still SDHC. 4Gb cards are almost always SDHC because they're cheaper, but 4Gb SD cards do exist. They are so rare that I've even seen a guru on this site claim they don't. I did own one once, but it was very expensive and turned out to be so unreliable that I had to return it. I don't recommend looking for one, because of the problems.)

Your solution is to go find a 2Gb card, and be extra sure that it doesn't say "SDHC" on it.

Samsung L700 memory card not working prints r not avialable 1 2 5 i wanna jumpers of samsung l 700 memory card

Although no memory card specifications (except that it should be SD or SDHC or MMC card) is listed in the PDF manual, the problem most probably is that your card might be incompatible (I've personally experienced card's incompatibility with other digital cameras):
1) Borrow different SD or SDHC cards from your friends and try on your camera.
1) Check cards of different speed classes (number 2, 4, 8 or 10 inside a circle on the card): Normally if you have smaller SD cards (up to 2GB), it might suffice that card's speed class is 2. If you have larger SDHC cards (4GB and more), your camera might require a speed class of 4 or more. Or it may also happen that your card is too fast/big - some older devices don't work with too modern SD/SDHC cards. Read more about SD card speed classes>>
2) Check cards of different sizes. Some cameras my not work with too small or too large size cards.
3) There are plenty of fake SD/SDHC cards on ebay (mostly from China, with unidentified manufacturers/brands) which don't work with many devices and cause many errors. If there's a size and speed class written on such fake card - don't trust these numbers, they are probably fake.
3) If none of the different memory cards work - bring your camera to the mechanic
However, these requirements may vary from camera to camera. So ask about your Samsung L700 camera directly at Samsung customer support form>>
There are several websites where you can match your camera with compatible SD/SDHC cards:

Hi,i bought a 8gh sdhc samsung plus to put in my fujifilm s8100 finepix & it says card error! i formatted the card but nothing works?

Many cameras won't work with the SDHC (high capacity) cards. SDHC is not backwards compatible with SD, even though it fits the same slot.

Anyway, you don't need a card this size for a still camera. It is less trouble to stick to the 1GB size, and carry a spare if you really need more space.

I have a samsung digitalcamera and when i turn it on it says card error? what could be wrong

There are several possible causes for "memory card locked", "memory card error", or "no memory card". Some include trying to use of a 4GB SDHC card with an older camera made before SDHC format came out. Others include problems with the tiny slide switch on the side of the card, or the electrical contact switch internal to the camera. The problem may also arise from simple formatting problems if the card has never been formatted in the camera (note that this will also erase the card). Troubleshooting tips for this problem may be found at this link.

Installed a Sandisk 4 GB memory card and camera says "CARD ERROR". What gives?

The A402 is designed to work with SD cards. Your 4GB card is actually an SDHC card. While SDHC cards will fit into SD devices, they will not work. You'll have to stay with SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

I have a NV10, it will not format the lexar 4GB SDHC memory card I bought, all it says is format error

The NV10 will not accept SDHC type memory cards. The largest card you will find it takes is a 2GB card of the SD type (not SDHC). The camera is not SDHC compliant, unfortunately. If you can return the 4GB Lexar, swap it for a 2GB of the non-SDHC variety. If this answers your question fully, please rate the solution accordingly. Thanks

SAMSUNG V800 SDHC CARD FIRMWARE UPGRADE

No. The differences between SD and SDHC goes beyond what firmware can change. It's possible to design a device to use both SD and SDHC cards, but a device that was only designed for SD cards cannot use SDHC cards without hardware changes.

Samsung S630 Digital Camera, Card Error and Format Error

you have several options:

1. see in the specification details of your camera what memory card is compatible for camera. for S630 it is SDHC/MMC/SD card (Up to 4GB Guaranteed). see if you're using memory card within this capacity and type. If you're using a different memory card type and capacity, try to use memorycard that is compatible with your camera.

2. try to use memory card to other devcie like cameras, cellphones and other devices and if it still has error problem, your card may be the one defective. use other cards.

3. try to take pictures without using memory card. use only the internal memory of camera. if camera still display this error meassage, camera needs service.

hope these options solve one of your problems. c",)
