I have 5 speakers the front center, front right, front left, and two in the back. The front left and right speakers do not have any sound coming from them. On the sound settings 2 channel stereo, 2 channel enhancer, and direct there is no sound at all. What happened? What can i do to fix this problem?

SOURCE: Not getting sound from right speaker

How do you have the audio hooked up from the TV set? If its s video or RCA plugs? If it is switch them around and see if it swaps channels that goes out . If it does then the output cable or the jack is bad. If your using an HDMI ir a scart cable. The cable or connections could be bad. Unplug it and reinsert it or while the units on mover it around and see if the audio comes back on.

SOURCE: No sound coming out of Center, left and right front speakers

make sure you didnt turn off speaker set A on the reciever. cause from what i can tell from the manual you may have hit a button to turn them off. now on your reciever look below the power button on the unit itself. below that is a speaker A/B push the A button to make sure its on or the B depending how your speakers are rigged. if this isnt the problem let me know and i can help you with another solution -Nate

SOURCE: No sound coming out of back speakers when watching DVDs

Make sure you have set blu ray player out put to bitstream,if you have set to pcm for hd master audio and dolby true you need to have a amp to decode this and hook up with a hdmi cable. If your amp has hdmi in and out but no high def audio you may still get multi channel audio.

Hope this helps.

I think the problem you are having is that you are not getting a true 5.1 channel source. You have to be using a digital cable from the source to get the 5.1 speakers to show on the receiver. I had the same issue for a day then figured it out.

For example to get 5.1 speakers from my PS3 blu ray I had to connect the hdmi to the receiver then to tv and then also an opitcal cable to the receiver from the PS3 to get the 5.1 channels.

Front speakers 5.1

Turn up the volume on the left or right speakers or turn down the center channel volume to meet your preferences. There should be a setting for that in most receivers.

How to set up surround sound

Not sure what you are looking for

But if 5 speaker setup have your front left and right speakers on the appropriate side of the television, your center speaker in the middle of the tv, Either mounted on the wall or underneath or on the shelf, try to have the center speaker set back from the front speakers. Subwoofer usually I mount behind the entertainment center. Your rear right and left speakers optimum position is behind you on the left and right.

If its a 7 speaker setup everything is the same except side right and left speakers go in the middle somewhere between the right and left front and rear speakers

I will make a example the the cursors [] Speaker *TV
LF[] CT and TV*[] RF[] []Subwoofer behind tv
SL[] []SR
LR[] RR[]

Hopefully that helps

No sound out of right main when watching DVR/TV or VHS

When watching TV or VHS the sound should be stereo and therefor come out of the the 2 front speakers. I suspect you now have sound out of the left front and the center speaker which indicates you connected the center speaker to the right front speakerterminal and the right front to the center terminal.

Just check if all speakers are connected to the correspondent speakerterminal.

If this is correct and the problem persists, try to connect another speaker to the right front terminal to see of the terminal or speaker is not working properly. If another speaker does work on the same connection, your right speaker might be damaged which might not be heard when listening to 5.1 because of the surround sound.

DVD plays partial sound

Check your speaker connections it sounds like you have a 5.1 or higher sound system. 5.1 means left front speaker, right front speaker, center speaker, right rear speaker, left rear speaker and subwoofer.

Voices in movies all get channeled to the center speaker (you can usually hear it a bit from the right and left front speakers as well). If your center speaker is disconnected or not working, you will only hear the background sounds.

Speakers not working proprerly

This may be in the sound card settings itself. Even though you may have adjusted the Windows settings {if thats what your using} the sound card needs to also be set up for surround. Some sound cards do not support 4 speakers or surround sound systems. Go to Device Manager and find your sound card and manufacture then check there technical support page for info.
