NTLDR is missing. Press CTRL-ALT-DEL to restart

I get this message and press CTRL-ALT-DEL to restart but I get the message again. I look for my computers CDs and I don't find a Recovery Tool CD but only a Restore CD. What should I do? I also have a Operating System CD.

I have the same problem. Here is what happened i got me a motherboard and all the other parts needed so that way i could make me a computer. Then i install windows xp and it works just fine for about 6 months then i go and try to upgrade it to windows vista. but my computer did not seem to be powerful enough so i format the drive then i try reinstalling xp and this is what happens. Maybe it was something vista did? So i no computer expert but maybe the motherboard needs to be reset or something? Please someone help and if you wouldn't mind emailing me at [email protected]. Thanks :-)

NTLDR is missing Press Ctrl Alt Del to restart

The issue is your system is not loading off of the boot drive- check for usb keys, floppies, even sometimes cds can cause the issue. If that does not work, you'll need to get your copy of windows, boot to that disk, and run a chkdsk /r in the repair option. If that does not work, you will need to reinstall Windows.

NTLDR Missing, Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart

What happened is when you changed the drive letters you switched one that should not have been changed.... You need to change it back so the original C: is C:

Because the original NTLDR file was on the C: drive which is the Windows XP Boot Loader and when you swapped it it couldnt find the ntldr on the new C:

From my opinion the only way to switch it back is to reinstall the OS onto the drive you want to be C:

Can't swich on laptop after restarting it.

You have a non-bootable CD in the CD drive and the startup sequence is looking at the CD drive before the hard drive. Remove the CD and you should be able to boot.
