Cool thing about these new computer controlled appliances is that they diagnose themselves. Easiest way to find issues is to run a diagnostic test: http://www.fixya.com/support/t9576766-found_small_part

Test T02 will show you the most recently encountered codes. At the bottom of that posting is a link to the code definitions with problem resolutions: http://www.fixya.com/support/t9556917-ge_model_wcvh6800j_error_code_04

My Hotpoint BWM129 drains at end of a cycle but doesn't proceed to spin, fault lights flashing are rapid Door locked and intermittent Delay Start. Does this fault code indicate a faulty drain pump or

Engine fault or main board fault. Most likely main board.
Check cable harness from main board to engine. Check the carbon brushes on the engine. If its all okay, replace main board

Kenmore HE2 washer will not automatically advance through all the cycles

I had this same /similar problem with my machine and found that the micro-computer board on the top rear near the cover of the machine are very prone to having bad electrical contacts on the board where the wire connectors go. The answer simply was to remove this board and add solder to each and every solder pad that goes to the connectors. The board is not bad (defective) just poor electrical connections. The repairman probably just wiggled the 1 with the issue and it worked for you for months as described! Perhaps you could get away with just disconnecting the electrical connectors and plugging them back in -it could buy you some more time before fixing it permanently with solder!

Good Luck!

My zanussi fle1215w washer washes continuously until it gets to the stage in the cycle where it has to drain water. it then stops and the pause light flashes. if i try to advance the cycle by 1 stage the...

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

Sorry but I do not know your particular machine BUT I would suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters. The motor is unable to drain all of the water in the allotted time.
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is normally behind the front lower (kick) panel and held in by a round cover/knob.

REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT!

It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. If it doesn't work then the motor is malfunctioning!

Hope the filter is the problem and good luck!

F&P washer lights on and beeps

Clogged pump stopped up drain. If the washer does not think all water was pumped out in 8 minutes then it shuts down. Slow drain is my first inclination.

Hoover HNL7166 'Start Delay' light flashing

Hoover (Nextra series) washing machines

The 'Start' & 'Pause' LED's will flash together to indicate the error code. You have to count the flashes within each 15 second period to get that error code. The start and the pause LED's will flash together at 1Hz (i.e 1 flash per second) within that 15 second time frame, then will continue and show again within another 15secs and so on.

1 Flash = Interlock fault
2 Flashes = Fill time-out
3 flashes = Drain time-out
4 flashes = Overfill fault presure pipe blocked
5 flashes = NTC error
6 flashes = faulty control board
7 flashes = Motor jammed
8 flashes = Tacho fault
9 flashes = Motor triac on module board
10 flashes = Prog Selector or wiring fault

Water not draining out w/ spin cycle

sounds like water may be going out but no spin in last cycle lean washer back and ck underneath for oil leak on top off transmission is a silver colored disk shaped object this is part of clutch if there appears to be a lot of oil on it good chance there is oil on clutch also causing it not yo spin..also ck to see if basket spins after short pause at end of rinse cycle ..start a rinse cycle at setting on timer with lid shut allow to run undisturbed ..once agitation stops in rinse timer should stop then start motor back up to drain ..there should be another short pause then washer should start spinning if does not pause suspect suspect timer if it does pause but doesn't start spinning suspect transmission..remember allow washer to advance by itself DO NOT RAISE LID TO CK..a small load of clothes will let you know if washer has spun

Bosch classixx 1000 washing machine - stops on spin

Washing machine stops at the spin cycle - light flashes. Have to drain water out manually. Happened last week and was then able to run an empty rinse cycle. Machine worked normally for another week. Same problem today but have had to drain water manually from the drum after trying an empty 90 wash and rinse cycle (both stopped on the Spin and flashed). Any ideas? Thanks. x
