My computer has two 1GB RAM s installed (2GB)
After installing two 2GB RAM s (4GB) the computer won't BOOT
when one 2GB RAM is installed the computer works fine
I think, one, out of the two is defected. Make pair with other memory or try changing the slots and vice versa. And for dual channel memory mode, you must installed two identical memory. I mean sizes and makes may different, but bandwidth should be identical to each other.

what clock speed is $are 2gb Cards. You should use 2 2gb cards rather than 4 1GB cards. If you can boot up down load Belarc Advisor and run identify particulars. It's free.
specs on that board from Intel is 2 gig max. when you install the 2 gig alone does it show you 2 gig in windows or only 1?......with a 2 gig max I would think that would max each slot at 1 gig...
maybe the motherboard does not support 2 GB of ram you could try 1gb+500mp in the other slot
to check how much ram your computer can/has
click start all programs accessories system tools system imformation you will see all imformation of your computer right including the ram
hope this helps
Will it boot with only ONE of the 2GB memory-sticks installed?
Will it boot with ONE of the 2GB memory-sticks AND one of the 1GB memory-sticks?
Look closely at the 1GB memory-sticks.
Does the label show 'DDR266' or 'DDR333' or 'DDR400' or 'PC2100' or 'PC2700' or 'PC3200' ?
Do the 2GB memory-sticks have _identical_ information?
It's definitely _not_ acceptable to have "slower" RAM (smaller numbers) in the new RAM,
but it _might_ be acceptable to have "faster" RAM (larger numbers).
You could try reseting the Bios settings using the jumper of the motherboard after installing the new Rams. Anyways ,its working, so don't do that now :P .

ok i checked on your model and it says 2gb RAM max and so it is probably seeing both chips but only seeing 1gb each since that is what the slot is made for..
But to be totally sure you might wqant to check the bios and see what it says since some bios will sometimes give more details as to how many chips are installed.
or take out one chip and turn the computer back on and see if it shows 1gb or 2gb if it shows 1gb with one 2gb chip then you will know that the slot wont read more than 1gb.
YES THE FREQUENCY OF BOTH RAMS DO NOT MATCH ... THATS BOOTING WITH EACH BUT ONLY ONE BY ONE ... YOU NEED RAMS OF SAME FREQUENCY AND SYSTEM WILL SUPPORT BOTH OF THEM TOGETHER ...
if i will suggest i think u can try a diff ram most times rams that r not compatible with each other may not run on a system. so to veriyfy that yr new 2gb ram pair is working try to install them one after the other that is, insert the first 2gb ram boot yr system if ok, shut down remove it n insert the other 2gb if it ok then they should work since it has been tested by the manufacturers n is written in the manual..
NB most times especially china products they may write anything on the body of yr machine but u will see a diff thing working so i dont know
guess u find help
