I add music through windows browser, like the users manual says. While it is hooked up to the computer, I can see the files. When I disconnect it and go to play the files, it says NAND!! NO FILES. I have tried every which way I can think of to get this to work, I have formatted it, searched for different drivers, etc.I add music through windows browser, like the users manual says. I had the same problem, just take it out and put it back in, or maybe even blow into you mp3's usb port or you computers usb port. Also make sure it's plugged in all the way.
This is Kamunitsu. For Your GPX Audio Player-SD/MMc card in a memory card that slides in the side of your player. SD Translated as origin, (Side Card) Select Option: GPX Audio Player. And make sure that the code (or) storage type located in the memory file of your guide, make sure your player supports that file. The supported media player file and your GPX player file have to match in size, length, and Type.

First, you need to ensure that the switch on the side is set to OFF...
then if you have Windows Media Player 9 and (Windows 2000 and before ie Windows ME/98) , Second, Hit the M Button and Make sure that you have the player set to USB
but then if you have Windows Media Player 10, 11 (Windows XP, Vista)
Hit the M Button and Make sure that you have the player set to MTP
and if you have no Windows Media Player ...
Hit the M Button and Make sure that you have the player set to USB
copy your music mp3 files using windows explorer or my computer
This player only works as the manual suggests if you use Windows Media Player 10. It is not compatible with iTunes. If you have Windows Media Player 11, there are detailed instructions on how to get it working right on GPX's website.
If you are using Windows Vista with Windows Media Player 11, you will need to follow these instructions. Note: You will be able to download purchased/subscribed songs to the unit - not from iTunes
1. Start Windows Media Player 11 and then connect your unit to your computer. If you have not set up synchronization between your computer and this device, the Device Setup Wizard starts. 2. In Device Setup - Configure Sync, write a name for your mp3 player. 3. Click Finish. The window closes and the Sync feature in the Player is displayed. 4. From the left pane of this Sync feature, you can select from Playlists or Library and you will see the content of these folders in the center pane. 5. Select the songs or entire albums from the center pane. 6. Drag these songs or albums into the Sync List, which is the right pane of the Sync feature. 7. Click the Start Sync button on the Sync List pane. 8. Repeat steps 4-7 for any other items that you want to copy to your unit.
sEVERAL POSSIBILITIES:
* You downloaded protected music on your Windows 98/98SE, Windows 2000, Windows XP computer using Windows Media Player 9. Music was purchased online or the music was ripped form your own audio CD with Copyright Protection turned ON. o You must use Windows XP and Windows Media Player 10 for online purchased songs. o You must turn OFF Copy Protection on your Windows Media Player 9 before ripping your audio CDs into WMA files * You downloaded protected music to your MP3 player using your Windows XP computer and Windows Media Player 10 with your player in USB mode. Music was downloaded from the internet, purchased or subscribed, or it was ripped from your own audio CD with Copyright protection turned ON. o You have to use your MW3836 in MTP mode.

Converting wma's to mp3 costs money unless you are getting the songs from an actual CD. Better to get an mp3-only music service like Limewire, Rhapsody Mp3, etc.
