I think the electric motor is to blame. but check an expert to fix it

When it starts to die just try slackening the fuel filler cap, if it picks up again it is a tank breather issue, if the breather is in the cap change it.

when your fuel filter came off...your saw sucked in dirt into the carb, clean your carb and you should be on your way !

Fuel filter is plugged or, if your in a cold climate the fuel could be gelled.

sounds to me like your check valve in fuel line is not working. If you have the original lift pump it located in there.

Is it your chain saw Husqvarna 40?

Try carb adjustments H-3/4 turn ,L-2 turns and T a little higher
I presume that compression and ignition sistem is adequate for the engine to run.Good luck
