Hello,
You will need to repair the windows.
You can boot with a windows xp cd that correspond to your os and then select the install os options.
this will detect previous version of windows
thren you will need to press R to repair.
At times this does not allow repairs.
So you will need to backup and install fresh os.
cheers

WHAT IS?NTLDR

Hello!

NTLDR stands for New Technology Loader. It is a critical boot file in Windows. You may have gotten a message that says "NTLDR is corrupt or missing". If so, Windows will not boot until you do a repair with a Windows CD.

If you are wondering if this file is a virus or can be deleted to save space, absolutely do not remove it.

Hope this helps!
tip

NTLDR Missing in your Desktop or Laptops PC's

Better if you have a bootable disk to perform this action.(NOTE!)
This tips applicable for all Microsoft Windows Operating System such as XP2,XP3 or Windows 7;, Ultimate,Home and Professional use:
A). Scanning virus on your pc and accidentally or automatically delete your NTLDR system file in your system.B). It will occur when your system unit restarted, and when the system try to boot the specified hardware ex. hard disk where the operating system where stored. this text will appear in your screen("missing NTLDR"). then you cannot proceed to windows. cause the system files cannot boot to it's main purpose.C). NTLDR is main system file for booting up the configuration that's being set in your BIOS system.

WHY I CAN NOT OPEN MY COMPUTER?AND WHEN TIME WE OPEN IT NTLDR is MISSING WILL APPEAR..WHAT HAPPEN TO MY COMPUTER?WHAT SOLUTION WE WILL USED?

Unfortunately it appears as though a major file was deleted from your system, possibly by a virus. Unless you can download NTLDR online to replace the file, you may have to reformat your system to get it working again.

I formatted my hd making it slave in other system: now i m placing it back on my system then it is saying Primary IDE masterNONE; Primary IDE Slave SP0822N Then comes NTLDR MISSING

> formatted my HD

This deleted 99% of the files on the disk-drive.

> Primary IDE Master: NONE
> Primary IDE Slave: SP0822N

Good. Your motherboard has detected ONE disk-drive.

Do you have just one connected disk-drive on your PRIMARY channel, or do you have two connected disk-drives (via the 2 connectors on the one ribbon-cable on the PRIMARY channel) ?

If you have two drives connected via one ribbon-cable, you MUST set the 'master/slave/cable-select' jumpers on BOTH disk-drives, to identify which of the two will be the 'master' and which will be the 'slave'.

Also, check that the 'second' disk-drive is getting electrical power.

> NTLDR MISSING

Like I said, you deleted 99% of the files, including the 'NTLDR' file.
Your computer is trying to "boot" from the 1% of the files that still exist on the disk-drive, but cannot find the now-deleted file.
Perfectly normal, given that you have formatted the disk.

Ntldr is missing press clt alt del to restart

The NTLDR and Ntdetect.com files are important system files that are used by your computer to start the Windows XP operating system. These files can become damaged, corrupted or deleted for a number of reasons and are usually brought to your attention by the "NTLDR is Missing" error message.

Follow these easy steps to restore the damaged/corrupted or missing NTLDR and Ntdetect.com files from the Windows XP CD using the Recovery Console.

Time Required: Restoring the NTLDR and Ntdetect.com files from the Windows XP CD usually takes less than 15 minutes

Here's How:

Boot your system  using a Windows XP CD, press any key when the windows display "press any key to boot from CD"and wait for some time, select "r" option to go to recovery console. it will ask you for administrator password too.

When you reach the command prompt type the following two commands, pressing Enter after each one:
copy d:\i386\ntldr c:\
copy d:\i386\ntdetect.com c:\

In the command listed above, d represents the drive letter assigned to the optical drive that your Windows XP CD is currently in. While this is most often d, your system could assign a different letter. Also, c:\ represents the root folder of the partition that Windows XP is currently installed on. Again, this is most often the case but your system could be different.

If you're prompted to overwrite either of the two files, press Y.

Take out the Windows XP CD, type exit and then press Enter to restart your PC.

Assuming that missing or corrupt versions of the NTLDR and/or Ntdetect.com files were your only issues, Windows XP should now start normally.

That's it.

What is NTLDR

NT Loader (NTLDR) is a small piece of software loaded from the boot sector of your primary hard drive that helps your operating system start.

If you have multiple operating systems installed and properly configured, NTLDR will show a boot menu when your PC starts, allowing you to choose which operating system to start.
