I just bought my psp battery after 3wks it doesnt charge anymore and i notice of the battery is getting thick, coz when i play i always insert my charger. i dont know?

It sounds like you need a replacement part. If you just got it for Christmas, I would take it back to the store where purchased. If not, I would redeem my warranty, and send it to Sony. If you can't do either of those, then you will have to buy this part:
psp_3000_powercable_repair

u need pandora battery and magic memorystick with custom firmware in it. then insert the memorystick and battery with left trigger pressed. u will get the custom firmware to install in ur psp just select the custom firmware and then install and u will see that the psp is working.....enjoy and play games. please vote if it helps u....

Depending on how long you have had this psp, your battery may have run out of charges. You may have to buy a new one. OR if you are using any sort of unofficial software or firmware then that may also have killed your psp. I recommend first looking up any similar problems online, uninstall any unofficial firmware or software. If that doesn't help then buy a new battery/psp.

the PSP has to be hacked in order for you to play downloaded games. If you get a magic memory stick and a pandora battery it can be done easily even with the 5.50 firmware version. Google pandora battery, and magic memory stic or (psp mmj tutorial) and you get lots of good info.

use a pandora's battery to revert to your original firmware you had before the problem occured.

Batteries lose their capability to charge to their highest capacity after each charge. I would reccomend a new battery.

try to insert its usb and attach it to the ON computer

if it still wont charge,try to borrow psp battery from your friend and test it. if still doesnt work, the unit itself must be the problem..try to look for sony service center near your place,if the psp unit waranty is still valid,they will repair it free.

It seems i have the same problem...although my batteries do charge, and i can take pictures. But when I play them back It does this beep beep beep and shuts off and the lens doesnt always close. It's really pissing me off

The polarity of the charger you used is wrong or the wrong voltage, and has messed up the programming n the battery.  You may be lucky if you get a new battery and use the Right charger, It might fix it.  Sony put a battery in the PSP that has a memory chip in it, and I think it will automatically disconnect if the wrong vooltage hits it, or wrong polarity. be warned that I have seen where someone got a new battery and it did not solve the problem.
