When using the foot pedal for forward playback to transcribe, when you lift your foot to stop the tape continues forward for about a second.

It sounds to me that you might have a mechanical problem in the machine. I am not familiar with this machine, but I have worked on lots of tape machines. The belts and rubber pieces can get slick or stretched causing problems.

When i put a tape in to transcribe it sounds garbled. Do you think it could use a cleaning?

1. Try to change the tape speed on your machine. Sometimes that will fix it.

2. Maybe the tape is just old (has been dictated on too many times) and in that case, have the person dictate on new tapes and discard the old ones. They dont last forever.

Hope I could help!

My Panasonic RR-930 transcriber speeds up and slows down as I play back tapes. The problem seems to be with the machine itself and not the foot pedal or the tapes. Where do I start?

Start by cleaning the capstan roller. The rubber roller and small steel rod just above it, control the tape speed. Just a little lint, build up or animal hair wrapped around this can cause the speed to vary. Clean with alcohol and a Q-tip.

What a cheap machine. Can't erase confidential tapes after transcribing them. I'm returning this for a brand that has enough common sense to add an erase button.

Hello unfortunately this unit don't have a erase function the only thing you can get a Microcassette eraser this eraser will help even if you decide to buy any micro or mini cassette transcriber when you used the erase function on the unit the life on the head, rewind, gears and motors get reduced by using this method if you used and eraser it erase the tape Magnets are on top and bottom eliminating the need to flip the tape allowing complete erasure on one second heare is a eraser you can buy and it is cheaper than buying other unit. http://www.tvps.com/Products/ECS-ME20-Mini--Micro-Cassette-Eraser---New__VE-ME-20.aspx

Dictaphone transcriber 3750 won't play, reverse, or go forward. What can I do?

Does anything show up on the display? Like 'No Cassette' or 'End Tape'?

Are you using a foot control? Does the tape move when pressing the buttons on the machine itself? Is the foot control plugged into the side of the machine (and NOT the back)?

Tape Counter

Thank you.  The machine has a reset button that brings the counter back to zero. Still not sure it is working right but I'll see as I transcribe my tapes.
