MY 1998 Dodge Dakotas power door locks click on and off as I'm driving down the road. any thoughts on what could be causing this problem?

Hi Robert:
We've been going bananas with the same problem on both aN Aztek and the Buick Terraza. GM shops are telling us to look at $350 to ??????????? as desperately complicated.
HERE'S SOMETHING THAT CAN BE THE CAUSE:
CHANGE THE BATTERY IN YOUR REMOTE.
IT CURED THE BUICK YESTERDAY.
Haven't tried the Aztek yet.

Car alarm disabled starter?

You might have blown a fuse check your fuse box in your car, or disconnect your battery and let it sit for at lease a hour and then try to put the battery back on your car.

New battery -alarm sounds- have to disconnect the battery-

The sounding alarm maybe a security system installed by in the truck. Disconnecting the battery will only temporarily solve your problem, but will resume once you reconnect the battery for electrical power.

You must find the keychain/remote of the security system and disable it. If you are unable to locate this, you can have it disconnected by a qualified automotive electrician.

Word of caution though, if you are using the keyless entry system with the security system, this will be disabled until you install a receiver with such function.

Hope this helps.

Remote starter will not restart my vehicle

If you have an alarm, or remote start with an alarm, you need to press and hold thethe valet button which would be hidden under the dash on the driver side, as you are turning the key sometimes remote starts have a starter disable or an alarm option to reset it that is what needs to be done, some systems even if you dont have an alarm go into a valet mode if your remote battery is old or you never reset it or the alarm kicked in or what have you. if this does not work for you then you will need to bring it to a dealership and have them do a total reset to the computer you can also try disconnecting the negative battery cable, but do this with the door open cause it will reset everything, and google the reset procedure for the key fob (remote).. do that reset for the remote and it should save you money from having to bring it to a shop or dealer.
hope this helps.

System Low Battery

Response 1 is correct. If you plugged the transformer into an outlet before connecting the battery the system wont see the battery and give you that error. Should be a simple fix however. Unplug the battery and then the transformer, then reverse the process. Plug in the battery and your Simon should power up, then plug in the transformer. If this doesn't help then you should replace the battery. Did you buy the system from a dealer and have it professionally installed or did you do-it-yourself? If it was professionally installed have your technician come back out to diagnose/replace the battery if needed. Good Luck.
