I have a motorola dch70 cable box from comcast. I recently hooked it up and set it on top of my TV. I cannot get any info on channels or any info when I hit guide. If I hit the ondemand button it says "E1003 A set-top interactivity problem has occured. Please try again after a brief time." I have given it days and nothing has changes. It did work one time but I had to move the box. There should be no problem with connection it is as high up as it can get and is plugged in perfect. If you could help me out I would greatly appreciate it. THANK YOU!

You say that it works if you move it away from the tv set, its due to the electrical interference of the high frequency internal tv signals with that of cable box, you need to shield/reduce the interference by either moving the box away from tv set or placing the box on a grounded metallic plate on the tv set

Can't hook up Comcast cable box into tv. It is an HD comcast cable box and I am trying to hook it up to my childrens princess tv/dvd combo. I can't figure it out. Please help.

I assume this TV has no Audio In and Video In, from your Cable box there's an antenna out or cable out, connect that to your TV's antenna in, and make sure that your TV is tuned in to channel 3 or 4, try those two channels. You can only change channel thru your box, your TV channel is alway's on channel 3 or 4.

TRYING TO INSTALL DIGITAL SET-TOP BOX WITH DVD AND TV

Hi ccraigo
To answer your question;
Your motorola will connect directly(not through the dvd) to the tv set into one of the input ,(preferably using hdmi or component cables for hd) and the dvd will use a different input,
All you have to do then is switch between which one you want to watch.
Hope this help Cheers

Recording with comcast hd box and toshiba VCR/DVD

1st, see if you can get another cable box that offers component as well as RCA outputs on the back. Does your cable box have S Video out and does your toshiba have S Video in? If so, hook up the S Video from cable box to Toshiba. Then hook up R&W audio from Cable Box out to Toshiba In. Set the channel on the cable box to what you want to record. Set Toshiba to record channel 3 or 4, whichever your Toshiba is set on. The cable box controls the channel you are recording. You cannot set the recorder to the channel you want to record. It must be either 3 or 4. Try it. If everything else fails, you have to go cable from wall to cable in on cable box, cable out on cable box to cable in on Toshiba then either cable or RCA out on Toshiba to TV.

TV Setup

Are you using a top of set box? If not make sure the set is set for cable then do a auto program/ channel search. The tv most likely is set for ANTENNA .. If you have a top of set box it could be the problem..

Here's how to fix it:
Turn the cable box off, leave fully connected. Press Menu on the remote
The cable box internal menu will display (Not the Comcast one the Motorola one-- i.e. Display ratios-16:9 etc It's in black and white)
Use the arrows to cursor to the Closed Captioning and toggle to "Disabled" Press Manu again to exit and Voila!

Power the box on an have at it

Motorola Cable Box DCt2244/1661/abcdeg

I called Comcast they said I could buy a box from ebay and it would be no problem. When I got it had no pic or sound, I called and they said if it was unplugged for 2 months or more it wouldn't have proper upgrades and is junk and said not to buy from ebay. Then why did they tell me I could on the first phone call? Thanks Comcast.....
