My Meridian M7310 phone system is unable to receive or give out going calls on Line 3 only. In addition there is no dial tone on that line only. The other 4 lines are working great. I have already gone to the appear and ring settings to make sure it was set to "Appear and Ring", and it was set correctly. Any assistance would be appreciated

Check your button programming using Feature *0 to see if the lines are programmed to your phone.

Intercom button/s provide dial tone when they are pressed. They are required to call other phones on your system.
Sounds like your button is stuck or issue with the motherboard.

Call a tech in that handles the system programming to check the line port if ok and/or call your carrier to report the line as being dead.

familirize with devices user manual whether has feature functions requested. Second, ascertain that device was least malfunctioning since acquired. normally, familirising with innovative devices makes expertise in functionality.

Programming is done on M7310, M7324 and T7316 sets.
To set up line appearence you need to enter programming by pressing the feature key followed by **266344.When prompted to enter the password enter 266344.
The screen should say TERMINALS&SETS. The 4 top line/feature keys are now used for programming.
At the terminals&sets prompt,
press the show key (top right arrow).
The display should now ask for an extension number. Enter extension number you wish to program the new lines on.
Press the show key (top right arrow)
The display should sat LINE ACCESS
Press the show key (top right arrow) .
The display should say LINE ASSIGNMENT.
Press the show key (top right arrow) .
The display ask for a line number. press list
The display should say line 001: appear & ring
press the next key (bottom right arrow) till it says 003:unaaign.
press the chng key till the screen says appear&ring
Press the next key(bottom right arrow)
The display should say line 004: unassign
press the chng key til the screen says appear&ring
press the Rls key when finished

When a phone has only 2 lines, it's not programmed. By default, a Nortel system has 2 lines and that's all. Go into system programming and assign the number of lines and intercoms to a phone. After that, you can copy the buttons from a working phone to the new phone and you're done.

Feature * 6 is for the ring tone of the set, it doesn't change the cadence (ring tone) on a line...

The only way to change the ring tone on a line... it would require everyone that has that number to change.

You need to go into the programming
-> look for LINE and enter
-> put in 003 for line 3 and enter
-> under TRUNK/LINE DATA find DISTINCT RING and change
-> REL to end programming...

Now that line 3 will ring differently. But it will ring differently on everyone's sets that has line 3 on their phone

make shure handset cord is Not pluged in to the Headset jack on the bottom, needs to be in the handset jack (look at the icons)

Rushy: I assume you have a KSU which controls the entire system. The KSU is cabled to each line number provided by your local phone company. Once you have this line established it now makes contact with your phone set via dedicated cabling to each telephone set.. With all this hardware in place you can now program the line keys on each set for either one touch dialing or line access for your dial tone.
