Well it all started like this....i havce the samsung TX-P3264W, one normal day i was going to play my xbox360 on the tv, the xbox wanted to do a system update to connect online (xbox live account) when it completed the update the xbox360 reset, the exact time it reset the tv went totally black, and started making a high pitch sound. (xbox 360 works fine), now i dont even get a picture of any kind but i get this high pitch sound. any ideas?

I was using my Microsoft x-box to watch a DVD when this problem occurred. As I was watching the movie, the picture shrunk. It looked like it needed to be degaussed. Normally, to degauss a Samsung TV, one needs to unplug it for a minute and plug it back in. When I plugged it back in I could hear the familiar sounds of 'hum and ping', but upon turning the TV on all I get is a high pitch whine.

Hi, I have a Samsung LN40A550 LCD TV which I have had for just over a year. ... I was watching TV yesterday and all of a sudden the picture went all. ... started makinga very high pitched buzzing sound with no picuture coming on. We did have a bunch of green vertical lines, but now just a black screen.

The tv have a problems in it power supply board,that the board where the tv power a/c cord plug into it.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish tv power supply board for the replacement.Power supply board have some bad high voltages transformers.That why ur tv even getting a high pitched sound even the tv it is off and tv it is not even on,and tv it is on standby mode only.
That high pitched sound is likely the Horizontal Output section trying to work. It operates at 15,750 Hz or at the upper end of normal human ears. It will sound like a high pitched whine.
This is a section or your television that you don't want to fool with unless you are quite familiar with servicing your set. There are very high voltages involved and only a qualified technician should tend to this defect. It maybe easy to fix or it may be quite involved. Get an estimate first then decide to go further or not. There is a potential fire hazard here so don't operate your set until this is resolved.
According to the Samsung website: "The high pitched sound you hear is probably coming from the flyback transformer. The flyback transformer converts the relatively low voltage electricity that comes from the outlet in your home to the high voltage electricity needed to drive the cathode ray tube in your TV. It is not unusual for a flyback transformer to buzz softly when it operates. However, if the sound is loud and high pitched, it probably means the transformer is failing. To eliminate the sound, you will have to get your TV serviced."
Get a small wood/plastic stick and touch the different coils/transformers to see which one is the cause. Replace part or if the part doesn't run hot, use a small amount of hot melt to quiet. Don't completely encapsulate in glue, don't want to create any hazards.
yes ur right that is a flyback that is leaking! it produces a high pitch sound. well if u want to be sure that ur part is genuine. go to the manufacturing authorized service center. for sure they have available part. try also to look into the horizontal cuircuit. there might be something else that was damaged. probably the horizontal output transistor. gud luck
