I am an auto mechanic with SnapOn Modis which will not work with Vista.How can I change system to XP.I have an Hp Pavillion dv9208nr notebook. All on line communication with the PC and Modis will never accept Vista. I spent $1100.00 for this piece of **** that constantly freezes,does not work well with any other programs or devices and I am sick of Microsft and Hp not having "any solutions available at this time "

You just need to remove, or better yet, Reformat your Hard Drive, and Install XP, then make sure install the Recent Updates, which have fixed all the BUGS in them, and that will end your PROBLEM

If you are using a Windows Vista operating system, this is what you can do:

1. Ensure that you are connected to the Internet and that you know the model number of your laptop.
2. connect to the HP website through the link http://h20180.www2.hp.com/...
3. After selecting your laptop model, click on Software & Drivers Downloads
4. Hence, choose your operating system (in this case it is Vista).
5. Choose the software update file that you need and follow the instructions. please do let me know if u using XP os.. cheers!!

yes. you can change vista os to window xp. but before the installation make sure does hp provide the driver all of those which your are going to use. for the driver detail log on www.hp.com.
once you make sure about the drivers , then arrange the XP bootable cd . and now try to install xp on your system.

Hp pavillion dv6000 laptop drivers for microsoft windows XP prof.

try to download belarc advisor software. Run this in your vista OS and send it to me so I can check your hardware specs. This is the only way to avoid problems in the future or before you start the formatting.
