Sonny, can't respond directly but yes there is a way. remove handle half and first check the brushes for their condition and resistance across the commutator of the armature, slowly rotate the armature and keep checking. If you get a reading close on each contact the armature should be fine. check the condition of the battery also. and while checking check from the switch/battery contacts to the brush leads for an open. Thank you for your quick response. The problem was that the ant selection switch was not set correctly. One of the grandkids must have bumped it. So I was using for the moment a VCR tuner for my TV tuner. The set is 25 yrs old and still is wonderful. I know I can add channels to the set, but I have forgotten how. The manual is long gone. Not a big deal I have 65 channels, that is plenty.
