when the other ringer patterns are set in your PBX the lamp may not flash.

Follow the instructions on page 18 of the manual.

Press the MESSAGE button and look at the display. It will tell you where the message came from and one of the soft keys will be ERASE or CLEAR.

The red light is MESSAGE WAITING. It is not necessarily VM notification. Press the MESSAGE button and look at the display. One of the soft keys will let you CLEAR the message and it will tell you where it came from. It's set by anybody calling your phone, and randomly, it is set by dialing your extension plus "4". Oops. It's a Pana mystery :-)

Go to any other phone and call the phone that the message does not work. When it rings, press the MESSAGE button. If it lights, then it's working.

Now, what is leaving the message and is it set up properly? I'm guessing it's a TVA voice mail system and it has to be told where to light the lamp.

If you have a Panasonic brand voice mail, you press #6 * and your extension, then the password.

See the button labeled MESSAGE? Push it and read the display. Now for fun, call someone and push MESSAGE when it rings. WoW!.

Your phones do other tricks. *700 plus your ext cancels all Messages.
