Maytag Neptune gas dryer model nbr MDG 4000 BWW. Dryer runs well but doesnt heat up. ...

A very common problem in a non-heating gas dryer is what is called the gas coils, especially if it will light briefly and then go out and not relight. You should also check the igniter and make sure there are not cracks or burned places, also thermal fuse and thermostat could cause a no-heat.

Dryer does not heat up.

Hello there:
normally on these units if the dryer was working ok and then suyddenly stopped heating your heating element or the ignitor (excitor ) has failed and is need of replacement
so i would start by having these things checked first by contacting a local repair man to do a evaluation on the unit and if kyou still have a valid warranty i would use it ok
I hope that this is very helpful for you
Best regards Richard

Maytag Neptune MDG 5500 AWQ heats sporatically

your dryer has a safety feature that it will not run or heat when the door is opened. It is so no gas fumes are exhauseted into your home. Once the safety is engaged, It will not allow the dryer to restart for a short while. It should clear itself after only a few minutes. Hope this helps, good luck.
