I have an older Amana gas dryer (10-15 yr). model #LG8319W2. It does heat up, but t does not seem to stay hot. It now takes 2 or 3 cycles to dry clothes, noticeably longer than before. Any idea what is happening ? thermostat ? thanks, Frank
The problem is the dryer coils are failing. They tend to fail as they heat up. They are inexpensive and easy to replace. Here is a link that should help http://appliancehelponline.com/gdryertroublevideo.html
