Guest,

Are you still having problems recording live TV shows? You can try unplugging the receiver from the power outlet for 10 seconds and plug back in. This will make the receiver reboot and then acquire satellite signal. Once the acquisition is complete, a program guide download will take place. Allow the download and see if the receiver will allow you to record.

If it doesn't, then run a check switch test. Press your menu button to bring up the main menu. Press 6, 1, and 1 on the remote which will take you to the Point Dish screen. Upper right hand corner of TV screen is a button, "Check Switch". Maneuver to that button and select. You will now be at the "Installation Summary" screen. At the bottom of screen, select "Test" button. Allow the test to run. After completing, it will automatically take you back to installation summary screen. Check for any errors windows. Exit completely out of all menus till you are back to "Acquiring Satellite Signal". Allow program guide download after acquisition, then check if you can record.

I hope this helps.

What do you do when your pause and rewind are not working on live tv programs?

Did they work before? For example, I bought my son a Samsung TV and the remote had rewind, pause etc. on the remote but they did not work. This is because the smart TV did not record the live image to allow this feature as it did not have any built in hard drive and I had to add a memory stick or hard drive into the USB port on the TV to allow the rewind, record and pause to work.

TV switch to live tive when wtaching recorded program

Hi there anil! My name is Kimberly and I form part of the Social Media Department with DISH, It is my pleasure to assist you. When watching an already recorded event and having a timer set up to record it should not interrupt your viewing of that DVR event. When this happened, did you get an error message on the screen? And has this happened again? Please reach me at: [email protected] with the details.

Cant record two programmes at once

Well no matter the DVR, you should be able to record 2 programs at once...but you CANNOT watch a 3rd live while they are recording...also, if your DVR is hooked up to more than one tv and someone is watching something else in the other room, it will not record 2 at once, either. You can watch RECORDED programming while 2 others are recording, but not live tv.
You might want to check how many "inputs" your DVR has...most have 2 which allows the double recording...if you have an older DVR maybe you only can do one at a time. On my DISH box, they call these "TV1" and "TV2".

Hope this helps.

If you have DISH Network equipment, you can try a check switch test on your receiver so the receiver can update its information from the satellite. With the DISH remote press the Menu button which will display Main Menu on the TV screen.

Press 6 (System Setup), 1 (Installation), and 1(Point Dish). Highlight the CHECK SWITCH button on the upper right of the screen and press the Select button on remote. On the Installation Summary screen, highlight the TEST button at the bottom of screen and press the Select button on the remote. This will initiate the test. Allow the test to complete. Once completed, exit out of each screen till you get Acquiring Satellite Signal on TV screen. After acquisition completion, allow it to download the program guide. If this doesn't fix the problem, you may need a new receiver. I hope this helps.

Hi taniabusby there seems to be a couple of issues here. Thefirst one seems the Software may be out of date, the current software as of 1/18/11is L6.73, L6.72 and L6.71. If you are running the current software then youwill need to run a Check Switch Test, this test will acquire the strongestsignal and will allow your guide to update fully. I will send a link to helpget your full guide to show.

I'm thinking of buying this VCR/DVR combo - Toshiba DVR670 -- but first I want to know if you can program the VCR recording timer using time span information -- not just those codes for programs you find...

Usually, depending on the source, or channel, timer recording can be performed on a VCR; even this model.

The short answer is YES - you can record cable times or set manual scheduled recordings on this VCR. It depends on the channel(s) available in your area, and/or the source (such as cable receivers/set top boxes, etc.) which are intended to be recorded.
