My one is the brother printer 115c model. After i changing the ink,
it started cleaning, but it stops in between and showing as ' unable to clean, check the troubleshooting chapter in user guide'. In my system trouble shooter not opening.. pls tell me wat to do next?
1) Press the Menu and Mono Start keys. Next press the key four times to make the
machine enter the maintenance mode.
2) Press the key several times to display 8 on the LCD and then press the Set key. Again
press the key several times to display 0 and then press the Set key
3) Press the Mono Start key several times until the purge count appears on the LCD.
4) Reset the purge count to zero by using the and Set keys as follows:
Press the key several times to display 2 on the LCD and then press the Set key. In the
same way, enter 7, 8 and 3.
5) Exit from the maintenance mode by using the and Set keys as follows:
Press the key several times to display 9 on the LCD and then press the Set key. Again
press the key several times to display 9 and press the Set key.

be done on every Brother inkjet machine with a numeric keypad.
- Machine off - Switch on the machine while holding down the “menu”button until all the leds are flashing on/off. Now you are in “maintenance” mode. - press 80 - press the “mono start” button several times until you see “purge: xxxx” - press “2783” in order to reset the purge counter. You will see: “purge:0000” - press the "stop" button. - press “99” to exit the maintenance mode.
Now you are able to print again, but actually your ink absorber box is now full with ink. Ink flooding can happen if you don’t replace this ink box!

mono start key several times untill the purge count appears on the LCD. Then enter 2 7 8 & 3 by using the up arrow key & set keys to reset
the purge count to zero. Last press the stop/exit key to return to
the initial stage of the maintanance mode. To exit enter 9 twice by
using the up arrow & set key's to exit from maintenance mode.

Press menu then*2864 within 2 seconds (maint should be on the display and all the lights should be flashing, if not try again) press 80 then keep pressing black/mono start button until screen displays ‘purge count’ press 2783 to reset purge count press stop/exit key press 99 machine should return to normal
you need a new waist ink absorber box from a service partner which can be found at brother homepage of you country.
After replacing the box you have to do a reset.

Pls refer below to clear the "Unable to Clean" error:
1. Enter MAINTENANCE MODE: Press MENU, MONO START 4x on ARROW UP within 2-3 sec
2. Using the ARROW UP botton, press botton and wait for the ff #:
a. 8 then press SET
b. 0 then press SET
3. Using the MONO START, just press until the word "PURGE XXXXX" comes out
4. Using the ARROW UP botton, press botton and wait for the ff #:
a. 2 then press SET
b. 7 then press SET
c. 8 then press SET
d. 3 then press SET
e. Press Stop/Exit
(This is to reset the purge counter)
5. Using the ARROW UP botton, press botton and wait for the ff # to appear:
a. 0 then press SET
b. 1 then press SET (to reset unit)
c. 9 then press SET
d. 9 then press SET (to exit maintenance mode)
If after this procedure you still encounter problem, see your service center
