LG washer with OE error

I have an LG WM2277HW washer. I got an OE error. I drained the washer, and ran it a few times. The drain pump was not working. I checked all hoses and the filter. Everything is clear. I got a new pump. It still doesn't work. I have an extra main circuit board. I swapped them out with the new pump in. Still doesn't work. I called LG and they wanted to set me up with a service call. I can't begin to tell you how disappointed I am with LG. I won't buy another product from them. Please help!

Well, I gave it one last try and it worked!! I took the whole pump assembly out, and checked both pumps (I only checked 1 the first time...dah!!). There it was - a penny stuck in the pump. It now works like a champ! Thaks for your help.

Hi,

If you are getting this code it is because your washing machine has tried for at least ten minutes to drain the water out of the machine. The most likely cause of this problem is that you have a plugged pump filter or you have something stuck in the pump filter.Make sure that you unplug your washing machine. To clean out the pump filter you must empty the washing machine water. The best way to do this is to manually drain the water into a low bucket or basin. Then lay a towel down to catch to remaining small amount of water. Remove the pump filter, clean out any debris, and wash out the filter. Then plug your washer back in and restart the washing machine.Check that your machine is properly leveled. A washer that is too far out of level may not drain properly. Make sure that you are level front to back as well as side to side. This solution will solve your problem

Thank You !!

OE error please

There may be a few different reasons why the OE error code can display on your washing machine. Is it the LG washer getting the OE error code? The OE error code on the LG washing machine display is an indication of a NO DRAIN issue. The 3 issues that may cause this fault code is a bent drain hose, the drain pump filter is blocked, or the drain pump may have foreign objects lodged in it making it unable to drain. All these issues can cause your LG washer to display the error code OE. With all these different reasons, checking all 3 components will clear the error and fix your LG washing machine.

I have the error code OE showing up, and the water is not draining from the washer. What should I do?

OE - drain error - 5 minute time out drain time error. check your pump/filter for blockages. Clean out the trap from the bottom, something is jamming the drain motor.

The LG error code OE simply means "the pump is blocked". Presumably the water isn't being emptied properly. As with all error codes it is possible that there is a cause other than the exact description in the error code explanation but basically this error means as far as the washing machine is concerned it thinks the water isn't pumping out. A pump, or filter blockage is the most common cause but it could be caused by other faults such as a faulty pump, or even a blockage in the drain hose or somewhere else in the system etc.

My lg WM2277HW is not draining water. It's filling with water and spinning but not draining the water. An oe error is being displayed. I checked the hoses and they seem fine. I checked the filter and there...

Remove and inspect the drain pump. (access is from the bottom of the washer once you remove all screws holding the pump housing in the front)
If no debris found when removing pump or pump impeller is damaged - replace. PArt number 4681EA2001D.
If found debris when removing the pump - reassemble and check again.
Good luck.

Lg tromm wm2277hw rinse spin error OE

An OE error presents if the washing machine has not successfully drained the water in ten minutes. However, the OE error code does not always mean that the washer requires a service call. If periodic maintenance has not been performed on the washer, there are a few simple steps to take before calling for service.
Step 1: Check the drain pump filter.
Items caught in the drain filter will prevent proper drainage. Over time build up can occur from detergents and additives used in the machine. Manually drain unit through the drain hose, then lay a towel down to catch the water, and remove the filter. Clean the filter thoroughly and restart the machine.
Step 2: Check the washers drain hose.
If the drain hose is not installed properly, the washer will not drain properly. The drain hose should not be installed more than 1 meter higher than the bottom of the washing machine.
Step 3: Confirm that the washer is leveled properly.
If the unit is not leveled properly, it will not drain properly. The front of the unit cannot be higher than the back or vice versa. If not properly leveled, the water can flow back into the machine. If this is the cause of the problem, please level the machine using the supplied leveling wrench. When you place a LEVEL on the washing machine, the bubble should be in the center. Confrim that the washer is leveled from side to side and front to back.

LG WM2277HW WASHER MULTIPLE PROBLEMS... NEVER BUY LG AGAIN

Normal 0 Thanks to other info gathered from this site and a few quality hours with the washer, I solved this problem for myself.

I experienced exactly the same problem. Did the same things. OE error Drain pump would not drain. Sounded like it was grinding a bit. Just not draining. Checked the strainer. Nothing. I found this link to the service repair manual which has easy to follow instructions on how to disassemble the washer and get to the pump. Removing the door and the pumps is really not that hard.

Don't be scared. I'm a novice and it was easy. Wear gloves. Lots of sharp edges. All you really need is a screwdriver and pliers to remove hose clamps.
Anyway, I got the the top cover off, removed the front door panel section and could easily access the drain pump. I first pulled off all the hoses. All clear. Disconnected the pumps (easy once I figured out the clip the pump unit slides into). Note there are 2 pumps - a circulation pump and drain pump (larger one). All clear. Reassembled. Still nothing.
Ran a few loads of wash manually draining after each cycle (to keep the wife happy with clean laundry). Yes, you can do laundry while waiting on the part to be delivered. Just get a bucket and drain the washer after each cycle - easier if you pull off the main drain hose and drain it that way versus the little emergency drain(slow!).
Became convinced it must be the drain pump so I ordered a new one for $50 here. repairclinic.com

Installed new pump and reassembled machine in about 20 minutes. Worked great. NOW HERE IS SOME ADVICE THAT MIGHT SAVE YOU THE $50 for a PUMP:

After replacing the pump, I was banging on the old one to see why the heck it stopped working. During the process, I figured out how to actually pull the pump apart. There is a rubber washer around the housing below the blade - pull on it hard enough and the pump slides apart. When it did - holy cow! It was filled with grimy sandy muck. I cleaned it all out, but did not feel like testing it to see if worked. So I likely have a spare should the new one ever go out.
Hope this helps.
Good luck.

You do not have an "OE" error, you have a "DE" error. DE error is "drain error" which displays if the washer has not pumped out after 10 minutes. If there is water in the machine and no obstruction in the filter I would suspect that the pump impeller is bad, and you would need a new pump motor. (part # 4681EA2001D) Pump motor is located directly to the left of the filter, and can be accessed by tilting the washer back and reaching it from underneath. The pump housing is held onto the machine by three phillips head screws.

If you have "DE" error and there is no water in the machine that's a whole different problem I'll address if you say that's the case.

If you need good service, try calling a small dealer who sells and services the procuct line you are having a problem with. You can find LG servicers at us.lgservice.com but avoid the utility companies, A & E, Sears, and all the big guys who try to service every brand but often times are not very familiar with your brand.

That should help. Carl S., factory authorized LG technician for over 10 years.
