Variable speed doesn't work troy bilt self propelled lawnmower

My troy bilt self propelled has large rear wheels and they are the driving wheels. The mower goes one speed, slow, regardless of what position the varibale speed lever is in. Per booklet, I have adjusted the variable speed lever cable to the extremem left hand position, still only goers one slow speed.

Cable could be stretched belt could be worn or old, if it has a gear box maybe it slipped a gear or lost some teeth. Do some investigation, Good Luck

My Troy-Bilt Self Propelled Lawnmower Wheel Not Turning on Grass

Hi,

Please pour some oil on the axel of the lawn mower wheel before attempting to use it on the grass again. If this fails again, it might be time to upgrade your lawnmower.

Thank you.

Can I put a bigger diameter wheel then factory 8in on the rear of my Troy bilt TB210 self propelled mower ( Front wheel drive)

yes but it will effect the speed. a bigger wheel will make it pull faster. and the deck will have to be adjusted for the right height of the back wheels for cutting grass even

My Troy-Bilt TB330 163cc 21-inch 3-in-1 Rear Wheel Drive Self-Propelled Lawnmower will start and run for a few seconds then stops. Why

sounds like a fuel problem. check to be sure the air filter is clean. if it is you may need to take the bowl off the carburetor and clean it. or maybe even take the car off and clean really good. over time dirt or debris even water will plug up the jets inside and cause it to do what you are saying.

Front wheels lock up when pull mower backwards

Typically self-propelled mowers are propelled using the front wheels, which only turn forward. Pulling the mower back while the front wheels are turning will damage the drive gears. It's best to raise the front wheels slightly off the ground before pulling back.

How do i replace a drive belt on a troy bilt self propelled lawn

You turn the mower over, remove the blade with a 9/16 or 5/8 socket. There is a bolt holding shroud on, 3/8 or 7/16, there are two screws by the rear wheels, 7/16 that need to be removed. Once the shroud is removed, belt can be removed and new one put on.
