All you need to do is to check on the FW version of you BD player. Go to Set-up > System > System Information. SW will be the FW version info. Please be informed that the latest FW version is v2.12. If it will not resolved the concern, try to verify if its happening to all of your Bluray Disc.

SOURCE: blue ray player wont play blue ray ''Kung Fu Panda'' disc.

Unable to play BD-R or BD-RE discs in the Blu-ray Disc® (BD) player. Solution
sp.gif sp.gif The Blu-ray Disc® (BD) player does not support BD-R and BD-RE discs right out of the box. However, a free firmware update is available that will provide compatibility with BD-R and BD-RE discs recorded in the BDMV format.
If your computer is equipped with a DVD burner and compatible burning software, you can download the update from the Drivers & Software section of the Sony® eSupport Web site and then burn your own update disc on a DVD-R or DVD-RW disc. If you do not have the capability of downloading and burning your own firmware update disc, you can register the BD player online at http://www.productregistration.sony.com/ and a firmware disc will be sent to you automatically; the shipping and receiving time for the disc is approximately 7-10 days via U.S. mail.
NOTES:

  • The firmware upgrade does not support BD-R and BD-RE discs recorded in the BDAV format.
  • Disc may not be played due to inadequate recording capability of the recording device.
  • Disc may not be played due to a disc being in poor condition.

I have a LG 32lg30dc TV and a Sony BDV-E280 and I lost the remote to the blue ray player. How do I play my movies?

Unless you have access controls on the front you will need that remote. Go to www.sony.com contact customer support and the technical department for possible replacement. Check out www.ebay.com Type: make and model and scroll down the list to see if you can luck out.

Player no longer plays blu ray discs

The problem is in the laser pickup assembly, usually you will find that it will play the standard dvd movies without a hitch, but! blue ray movies require a higher velocity and more precision in the tracking to offer the much improved picture quality. When this happens the only option is to replace the assembly or go the cheaper route by replacing the entire player.

We dont have a remote but want it to play movies

I'm sorry to inform you that the Blu-ray player requires the remote to playback the blu-ray movies. You can playback normal DVD video disc which has auto play option. In order to go though the Menu items before start playing a Blu-ray DVD. Hence Remote is must..
Thanks for understanding..
