You can clean the screen from the back - take off the access panel. I clean mine once a year whether it needs it or not.

Cobwebs inside screen

you need to take the top back off the tv. and mind the glass at the top of the rear part top it is very fragile, most of the projection tv have a side cover on each side so you can clean the rear of the screen, as you not said what type screen you have i cannot tell you further.

The light on my garage door unit goes off and on by itself. when the light goes off the garage door stops opening or closing

It sounds like you have something obstructing the safety light that runs across the bottom of the door. If this light is obstructed, it will stop the door action and blink the light off and on to let you know that is the case. Sometimes a cobweb or leaf will be enough to cause this. Also clean off the bottom of the door which may have cobwebs hanging from it that would cause the obstruction.

How do I dust inside the screen of a Rear projection TV?

Unplug tv first Usually you can pop the front screen off the set. There may be two hidden catches depending on the model. You may want to use two people for this. Once the screen is off removed the spider web and clean the back mirror with some windex, don't clean the inside of screen with any cleaner. Replace carefully the screen making sure it clicks back correctly

Cleaning cobwebs from philips rear projection tv model 51PW9363/1

I had the exact same problem and the fix is easy to do. Unplug the TV first of all and wheel it out so you can easily get to all of the rear screws.

  1. Remove the screws from the ventilated back panel (the piece of wood with a bunch of holes in it surrounding the AV connection panel.
  2. Remove the wood panel you just unscrewed.
  3. Remove all screws from the upper plastic case on the back.
  4. Remove the back plastic case carefully. This is a little tricky due to two metal pins that it hangs on. Lift it upwards and you should be able to free it from these pins
  5. At this point you should be able to see the entire workings of the TV, and consequently the massive amount of dust that has accumulated.
  6. Carefully take a vacuum and remove all the cobwebs, taking care not to bump the mirror or the lenses.
  7. First, I used some compressed air to clean off the lenses and then used a clean microfiber towel to remove all the dust from the lenses, the mirror, and the screen on the inside. Make sure the part you are wiping the mirror and lenses off with is free from any dust or dirt or you will risk scratching them.
  8. Reverse the dissasembly process to put the case back together.
  9. I went through the convergance settings at this point and found that they were all out of calibration and as such recalibrated them. Use the mulitpoint calibration for best results.
  10. Enjoy a much cleaner brighter TV!

Cobweb hanging inside screen

OK I DID IT I WAS AFRAID TO OPEN IT , BUT IT IS SO EASY IF YOU DO IT LIKE I DID IT , FIRST UNPLUGGED EVERYTHING WITH THE TV , TRY IT IN OPEN SPACE AND WITH LIGHT , UNSCREW ALL THE SCREWS FROM THE BLACK COVER IN THE REAR OF THE SET ONE BY ONE THE USUALLY HAVE AN ARROW MARK POINTING TO THE HOLE, INCLUIDING IN THE BOTTON OF THE COVER , ALSO UNSCREW THE OTHER SCREWS FROM THE RECTANGULAR COVER TOO THE ONE THAT HAS THE HOLES FOR THE VENTILATION OF THE POWER SUPPLY, SO AFTER THA IT IS DONE , PULL OFF THE ONE WITH THE HOLES AND THEN THE BIG BLACK COVER PULL IT FROM THE MIDDLE AND BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO IT BECUSE IN THE INSIDE IT HAS A MIRROR ATTACH TO IT SO BE GENTLE WHEN YOU PUT IT DOWN , ONCE IS DOWN YOU CAN FLIP IT SO YOU CAN CLEAN IT . OK NOW YOU CAN SEE THE WHOLE BACK OF THE T.V. WITH A CLEAN PAPER TOWEL YOU CLEAN IT . THEN PUT IT BACK TOGETHER USE WATER ONLY , GOOD LUCK

How do i clean my screen

CRT Rear-Projection - Before you can begin cleaning, you need to determine if you do, or do not have a screen shield. A screen shield is a hard plastic cover over the front of the TV screen. If you can't tell, give the front of the TV a light tap. Another way to tell is to check for ridges in the screen area. If you can feel ridges on the screen, then you do not have a screen shield. Rear projection TVs without a screen shield require a special kind of cleaner and rag. These are available for purchase at your local TV service center. Those that do have a screen shield should be cleaned with a dry or damp soft cloth. If it's extremely dirty, a mild soap may be used. Do not use paper products, such as paper towels, to clean the screen shield. Paper products can easily scratch the surface of the shield. Screen shields can have a tendency to streak while cleaning. If this happens, use a dry cloth and buff the screen in a small circular motions.
