I had the same problem and began taking the base apart, cleaning everything with canned air. I found a foam filter next to the sensor board and it was packed full of dust. I blew everything again with the canned air, put it back together and the light cycled off after about a minute.
Have you checked the filters to see if they are blocked and need cleaning/replacing. Failing that it could be the sensor at fault.
