Take your watch to your nearest watch shop and ask them to do it for you.

You can get into difficulty replacing batteries and it is not worth the risk for
the small cost saving in doing it yourself.

Is watch dead or is battery dead

If your numbers dim when you push any button, it's probably a battery. If your numbers are off or very faint same problem, battery. Those watches take a 1.50 V cell because of the light, and multi functions. Any decent jewelry store should be able to have you in and out in 10 minutes or sooner.

Good luck, gabe.

The digital display on my timex epedition watch is frozen... nothing I do changes this, holiding down any of the buttons does nothing

You have to check if the digital part has separate battery. It is quite common to have two batteries in one watch - one for each movement. If this is the case, replace battery. If there is only one battery for the whole watch, you will need watchmakers help to rectify the fault.

Hi my xg-55 froze up, how do I fix it

You will need to take this watch in to a local Certified Master Horologist. It will have to be opened and reset from the inside by shorting the appropriate contacts on the movement. It may also require a battery to operate properly, if it has not been replaced in the past 1-2 years.

If you wear this watch in the water, you need to have it pressure tested to ensure its resistance after the procedure. This is properly done with a pressure testing machine that usually is found at Horologist / Watchmaker shops only.

Does not start after battery change. buttons are not functioning. display is fixed on 1- 1 SAT. light is off. I tried to reset shorting AC and [-] for more than 3 sec. but nothing happened. I concern it...

mcdevito75 here, Return your watch to whoever replaced the battery for adjustments. ------ If you replaced the battery yourself, you may have mis-aligned the buttons that press against the quartz movement to change the display, you"ll have to go inside the watch and make sure the buttons are touching where they are suppose to. It"s also ossible your new battery is weak from a long shelf life. Here also is Casio contact number, 800-706-2534 Optn. 2

Changed battery now it won't come on

Try shorting the battery case to the watch chassis (using a pair of tweezers perhaps).

This seems to be a standard instruction and I think this resets the watch.

The battery of my XG-55 is down. I tried with several watch repair labs, but they told me that after changing the battery, the watch doesn't start again. Any advice?

When you change the battery on this watch you have to short the circuit board. You need a fine pair of tweezers and you need to look on the circuit board for an arrow or bare spot, put 1 end of the tweezers on that place on the circuit board and the other on the battery at the same time. that should do the trick if the battery was installed correctly and the battery is good.

Display not working

If I remember correctly, these watches have two batteries.. one for the time and one for the animation.... you probably just need battery replaced.
