Hello,

If you turn the monitor off then about 1020 sec turn it back on and have a picture for five sec again it sound like the power supply in the monitor. but if that did not solve the problem, the picture board on your monitor is bad, since it goes off after few seconds and the power led or button is on, it means the picture board of your monitor has developed fault and will need to be replace.

I advice you replace the picture board on the screen of your monitor to solve the problem of the blank screen.

Take care.

My monitor goes blank after a few seconds of turning my computer on. I turn off the monitor & turn it back on again and it only stays on for a few seconds thanks

It basically goes to Power Save Mode. Check for the same error in System Setup screen, if the Monitor goes off in System Setup then you better need a replacement. Else you would need to reseat the Video Card(If any) and the Memory Modules. Please keep posting for any further issues / improvements.

If your Dell monitor still under into warranty, better to call Dell technical support and have them replace your monitor coz there is no way you can fix on it.

If the monitor is beyond with the warranty already, better to but a new one than taking it repair that will cost you much.

Thank you.

Video cards that can handle two monitors at the same time have cables with two plugs on the monitor end.

If your video cable has two plugs on the monitor end, try the other plug.
