If you are using the Bose Equalizer to optimize the sound of the 901s by going through either a tape loop or a pre-out/main-in loop, then the only way to do this without also equalizing the sound sent to the second set of speakers is to manufacture a "zone-2" output from the Luxman.
You'd probably need to split the send from the Luxman's pre-out before the EQ and send it to a second power amplifier for the second pair of speakers (if you want the Luxman's volume knob to control both speaker sets) or from a tape level output (if you wanted independent volume controls for the two speaker sets.
The whole EQ thing made 901s difficult to use on vintage equipment with only one "zone" audio outputs. Unless you want to use the Bose EQ on the second set, too, you can't do it satisfactorily without adding another stereo amplifier. But, go ahead and try it, you might find that you actually like the odd EQ that the 901s EQ gives to the second pair!
If it were my decision, I probably would not do it without a second amp, but it's all about what you like, my opinions really don't matter in your house, do they?
Have fun
Testimonial: "That's great advice. Thank you very much. I want to try the Bose SA-3 for the second amp, but it looks like there are not enough connections."
If you use a Tape Monitor loop for the Active EQ you will essential turn any multichannel AVR into a stereo-only unit, but the 901's REQUIRE it so here is how you can do it.
If the Luxman has pre-outs for the front channels you're in luck. Real easy.
Otherwise you have to borrow non-specifc (mixed) Left and Right audio from somewhere like a Tape Out.
You can't use ANYthing in an activated tape loop with digital audio material. As soon as you employ the monitor for it, the digital source is disabled in all AVR's so far. What you need is a separate stereo amp for the 901's.
For connection I would run a pair of RCA cables from the FR and FL Pre Outs (or a Tape Out, but never activate the monitor for it) to the Active EQ's Line IN; then the EQ's Line Out to a separate amp's Line IN. Attach the 901's to the new amp.
Then set the new amp's volume control (if it has one, mine doesn't) to something HIGH and run through your speaker setup routines on the your receiver. After levels and distances are set the receiver will control all volumes, including the 901's. I recommend sharing or directing any LFE with them. With 901's you might not need subwoofers.
