Try removing the batteries from the remote after you set the volume, just to determine if the remote is causing the problem or not. I have seen stuff spilled on remotes and they just go crazy.

SOURCE: 32 Inch Brand new Samsung 32" LCD showing subtitles / no volume??

I had a similar problem, checked all of the TV's control settings only to find out that my cable box had an independent "mute" function that automatically turned on the closed captions when activated. Once I found that and turned it off, all was fine.

SOURCE: Samsung 32 inch remote control problem

I had a similar problem. Take the batteries out of the remote, press down on the number 5 for about two minutes the put the batteries back in. This worked for me.
(I got this tip from a telesales advisor. I was close to buying a replacement remote but this tip worked. Hope it does for you. I'm not sure on the science part of it but it basically resets the remote. Good luck)

I have a 60" LCD LED Samsung Tv and I am getting static noise/crackling noise that doesn't go away even with the sound off. The only way to get rid of it is to turn the tv off completely.

Using the volume control buttons on the television itself (not the remote) turn the volume all the way down to 0.
Using the volume controls on the Digital box itself.
Turn up the volume until it is at the maximum.
Using the television's volume controls again; raise the volume to a comfortable level.
If you are still experiencing the audio problems on this television, it is possible there is a loose connection on the television.

I have a 32 inch Samsung LCD TV. For some unexplained reason it keeps turning the volume down by itself. I have tried the obvious, like taking the batteries out of the remotes and then turning the volume...

Warning! Pull out the cord first!!! Open the TV take the tester and check over the mini board with the buttons, there might be the Vol- button in shortcut, or get some water. If its short, must replace, if there are water/ liquid/ oxyds traces, take a toothbrush, put a little of alcohol, and gently clean the place, after that dry it with a hairdryer.

Samsung le40r74bd problem

I just had this problem with my 3 year old 32" Samsung LCD. The volume would go up and down by itself, normally just constantly going up even when it reached 100%.

I thought it might have something to do with the volume buttons on the TV itself so seeing as it was out of warranty anyway I decided to unplug it and open it up.

I gave it a good clean and I disconnected the cable for the panel of buttons on the LCD itself (volume, menu, channel etc) seeing as I never use them anyway. I then put everything else back together and tested.

It seems to be working fine now. Previously (for the past 3 hours) ever time I turned it on the volume level would come on instantly and stay on until I turned the TV off. So I’m quietly confident the problem has been fixed. But I must admit it’s only been 10 minutes, so who knows, it might come back.

Telvision Problem

Do the controls on the tv itself work or just the remote? If it's the remote mabey it's defective. I would look on the Ilo site and see if they recommend a universal remote for their models ( or just getting yours replaced ). If the problem is within the tv, I'd look into the warranty. Sorry if this wasn't any help.
