I am having some problems with this Sony Wega KD-36SX955 36" tv. Sometimes it will turn on and sometimes it won`t. I had it on all day last Sunday and shut it off and the next day it would not turn on. It will make the usual clicking noises from the relays and the standby light blinks, but thats it. I checked other post on here and they say to replace the IC . I opened up the tv and found 3 IC in it. 2 that say SHINDENGEN MCZ3001DB B00446 those are on the left side and 1 on the right that says SHINDENGEN MCZ3001DB B04047 Which 1 do i change? Or do i change them all? Thanks, PEANUT

SOURCE: Sony Wega 40" TV will not turn on, standby light blinks 6 times repeatedly

Hello,For model KV-40XBR800,

Pls check following area.

Low HV Shutdown:
On the D Board.
Check IC8004/pin 7 should be 7.4v.
Check IC8006/pin 2 should be 2.5v if lower will trigger shutdown by causing pin 1 to turn on.
Check IC8006/pin 3 reference voltage 2.2v.
IC8006/pin 1 normally at 0v. If high
turns D5007 ON which turns the latch circuit Q6532,
Q6530, and Q6527 ON and turns the AC relay RY6501 OFF.

And NOTE: 6 blinks also can be Low B+ protection.

Unregulated 7.5 v from the power supply to 5v reg IC504 on the A Board. 5v to M Board Q2314

to CPU IC2300/pin 43. If 5v missing set will shutdown with 6 blinks.

Good Luck

a leaky capacitor from the sync seperator may have caused this defect..if you can interpret its schematic..if you have, the cap is located before it enters to the drive transistor

My Sony Wega KD-55410 made a "pop" and went black.

Sounds to me like you may have cats or pets of some kind. Hair from cats (or dogs) sometimes ends up inside the vents of a television. Static Electricity is the culprit for most sparks or jumps of electricity within an electronic system. Your television may need an extensive cleaning, (usually blown out with compressed air) and then some components, circuit boards or complete wire harnesses may need to be replaced.

The best way to keep this from happening in the future, is to keep any pets out of the TV room as much as possible. Hair from cats can almost always find it's way into computerized equipment, so annual cleaning by a reputable serviceman is normal maintenance. Also, any fluids, such as drinks or plants should never be anywhere around electronic components such as your TV or computers.

Sony KV Trinitron WEGA 36" TV won't turn on

My 36 wega did the same thing last week it must be contagious. Blinks 7 times mostly but sometimes 6 if hit power switch again. The problem is the D-boards shorted Flyback high voltage transformer but the ones Sony is selling $130 do not hold up and seem to burn out in a few days, yes twice bitten. Finally they send me new D-board can't wait to see if this fixes it once and for all. The board costs around $200 but is worth it to get it running again.

NO picture

You didn't say how old your set is, but if it has a picture tube, then this may be you trouble. I've seen several Sony's do this. I've had several come in to the shop and set and play for several days and then "wink" out! Sometimes, though, the high voltage circiut will shut down and the sound will still work. I would advise you to have it checked at a shop. If is very old you need to get an estimate. Stargazer
