Hp nx6110, stays in a boot-up loop

It doesn't pass the Windows XP Pro window, when it reaches this window, it reboots itself or shut down automatically. The behavior is similar to when the a computer get hot and the fan is faulty, it just cuts-out.

Hi, If you are sure that it's not overheating, then it could be the hard drive.
A boot up loop is an indication that the boot up sector on the hard drive is corrupt and broken. The hard drive tries to find this boot sector to boot up your computer but it can't. It keeps trying to find it again and again and again and keeps looping. Hank

1 choice -
http://www.icompute.info/System_restore_from_xp_cd.htm
try to do system restore from repair console

2 choice -
reinstall windows over the old one.
this will require correct drivers & reinstall of all software. To avoid loss of documents - don't format & don't use same users names as last install or put in new hard drive and make old hard drive as secondary.

both choices you need to get into the bios to change the boot order so cd boot first to get into the windows cd if it is'nt set yet

Garmin 1340T boot loop issue. The unit

Hi,

Unfortunately, there isn't an easy solution for the Nuvi owner as it requires a custom piece of firmware to flash the unit to make it at least boot. This problem is often caused during a failed firmware and/or map update.

It sounds like a file was corrupted. Sometimes it is better to connect the unit up to a PC, delete the old map and then proceed to install the new one. There are so many issues with memory space causing failed downloads and corrupted files.

If the map file is missing, the unit will boot-up OK, it will just say "Map data unavailable" but if the map file or associated map files are corrupted, it can cause the unit to crash. Your PC won't recognize the Nuvi because you have the reach the main screen before the data communication mode routines are accessed.

We've had some success in restoring some of these units by flashing a "fix" firmware in "pre-boot mode" that doesn't try to load the map or map associated files. This should then allow the unit to boot. Once the unit boots, Windows will recognize it and then you can copy a map over to it from the PC. Reboot the unit and then flash it with the standard firmware.

Can't repair bootsector in XP PRO

You can try this, with the pc running, open case, touch the metal case with one hand and the other hand unplug the drive. Now shut down
the system, unplug the system and hit the power button until the lights die. Plug in the drive and reboot the pc, go into bios and go to
boot. Check to see the drive is listed boot order. reboot and see if it boots.

If you can get into user account you can set admin password, then try restore cd then run fixmbr in dos.

If you can, get HDD Regenerator, and you can check the drive for errors, them run it again and repair them if possible.

But no, most of the time something causes the file to corrupt and lose boot not a bad sector on the hard drive.
