I just bought an orange LG enV and I can send and receive text messages, but when I try to send or receive picture messages it says, "Message Receipt Failed" or "Message Send Failed" and I also can not download any apps from GET IT NOW (for ring tones)... It's not on stand alone mode, I've tried setting it to "Location On", I've done *228 and a bunch of other things... nothing's working! Thanks in advance for your help!
Ok, this solution hasn't been posted and I'm hoping it helps at least a couple of you. My fiancee & I both got EnV's at the same time, (him green, me orange) and he could send and receive pic msgs but I couldn't. Well, I finally figured out the problem with my phone. See, we live in a "non-coverage area", VERY rural part of Pennsylvania, where the only "bars" we get are the ones that say "1X III"; my fiancee works in a "coverage area" (bars read "ev xIII") about an hour drive from home; now, I actually had a knowlegable csr tell me that "coverage areas" may be my problem, so about 2 weeks later I went into the city which is in the "coverage area" and tried to send a picture message and to my surprise, ta-da! it worked! It has worked ever since, now, even from home I can send and receive pic msgs. On a separate issue in one of the posts above, someone said they got the notice "msg sent/rec'd failed" --THIS does happen sometimes from home, and after paying close attention I've noticed that it depends on the "call state" when you are sending/rec'ing the msg, meaning, it has to show the picture of the little cell phone WITH the flashing arrows in order for the msg to completely go thru. Sometimes, I have to go to the "sent" menu and it may take a couple of retries but it does finally go thru. Also, if anyone else has this situation, you may have to do the *228 from the "verizon coverage area" but just sending/rec'ing pic msgs or downloading games in the area should update your phone enough that you should be able to do all of the above from even "non-coverage areas." For those of you who are in "coverage areas" and are having this problem, I'm so sorry : ( , I don't know what could be the cause of your problem, I can only offer my advice of keep trying cust serv & try and find a knowledgeable rep. to help you. Hint, if they don't know what you're talking about right off the bat, tell them you have to go and then call back & try with someone else. A LOT of these reps will go through HOURS on a call-they are trying to help you but have NO IDEA what they are talking about. Don't waste your time on them, keep trying diff. reps til you get someone familiar with the prob. Good luck!
Yeah i had the same problem a while ago. You might try performing a harsh restart by taking out the battery and then turning your phone back on. Hope that works for you.
This may sound stupid, but, did you buy the phone from a store or from a private party? I have seen alot of times, a verizon EnVY gets flashed to another carrier IE cricket wireless, and then they sell it to a store, or another party. What service are you trying to use it on?
Turn your phone off and take battery out then put bac in and turn on .. worked for me hope it helps you. or i could be too late to solve lol.. but lg phone do this alot its common
Well it depends on who you are with, so if you are with at&t you can send and recieve pic. messages (multimedia messages) but if you're with cellular south or verizon wireless let's just say don't try it sadly just switch over I did and it's so much i mean like wayy better!!
Don't mean to sound sarcastic.....But try calling your carrier and they will walk you through the problems you are having! I have the same phone and am VERY happy with it!! Works great with BLUETOOTH enabled PC for uploading ringtones and pic and videos!! GOOD LUCK!

Exact same thing started to happen to me last fall/winter (2007). I once spent 2 hours on the phone with verizon customer service, who took me completely out of the system and built me back in from scratch and it still wouldn't work. They seemed totally clueless. I haven't tried seeking their help since. It still makes me mad. I have no idea if the problem lies in the network, the phone, or where.
My girlfriend had another verizon phone and I could send her pic messages with no problem. But as soon as she "upgraded" to the env, she wasn't able to get my messages anymore! I'm not on Verizon, but I can send messages to other verizon users so it is not a network problem. Has anyone found a solution for this? I'm going to sit with verizon help tonight and am dreading the 3 hour phone call with no resolution...
the same thing is happening with my phone. I switched back to my env today because I lost my blackberry and I cant recieve any picture messages. its really kind of annoying.
