to recall mem press alfa(inred) then M+ (which if you notice has a red M above it)

similarily shift & M= to minus from memory.

press mode button twice to display deg which is key 1 I think.

I accidentally entered a function on a calculatot

No you do not have an exponential p. The p at the bottom right of the screen says that the numeration mode is the one in base 5 (pental mode). Change it to decimal (Dec). Find the key that has the marking (->Dec) above in on the faceplate of the calculator. It s probably the + key. Press [2nd F][+] (>Dec). The letter p will disappear.

I have DEG on the calculator screen and get figure out how to turn it off??

Press the DRG key to cycle through the three angle modes. Be aware that whatever mode you select, the corresponding indicator will appear on the screen.

The angle mode should not affect the exponential and logarithmic functions. If you still get errors, please post an example or two, including the exact keystroke sequences.

E^ won't work

You are not using it correctly. To calculate the exponential of a number you use the key sequence [SHIFT][LN] to access the exponential function. Then type it the exponent (positive or negative) and close the parenthesis.
You do not use the power key (^)
The exponential function is not affected by the angle unit when you are using real values.

How to remove the grad mode from my canon f-710?

Grad is a unit of angle. The angle unit affects only the results that involve trigonometric functions and their inverses. It cannot affect the display of results in exponential format (scientific).
Change the angle unit to degree or radian if you want.Disable the scientific or engineering displays by using FIX or Normal (floating).

I am using my Casio fx-300MS and have somehow gotten into the display where it puts my answers in exponential form; 5+5 = 1.0 exp10 to the 1. How do I return to getting my answers in standard form?

Display Format

To change the exponential display format, press the [MODE] key 3 times.

Fixed number of decimal places:

Press 1: Scientific Notation: 0

Press 2: SCI: 0

Press 3: NORM

You will then be prompted for NORM 1 or NORM 2. CHOOSE NORM 1

To return the calculation mode and setup to the initial defaults, press [SHIFT] [CLR] [2]

[=]. This will return the calculator to the following settings:

Calculation mode COMP

Angle unit Deg

Exponential display format Norm 1

Fraction display format a b/c

Decimal point character Dot

Percentage Calculations

I can't get the calculator out of the exponent mode. ex. It gives me 7 -03 rather than .007.

Hi,
You must change the number display to FIX. Press [MODE][7:] followed by a number betwee 0 and 7. This will set the number of decimal digits. Be warned that the Indicator FIX will be displayed on the screen.
This information is for the FX250D, but I trust it is also valid for the FX-250HC. If it is not, just look in your manual. If you cannot find yours, do not blame me, I cannot get hold of a manual for this calculator.

You can always take the time to play with the [MODE] key followed by [.] or a number. When you press the mode + number, look on the screen to see what indicator appears (deg, Fix, Rad) The one that makes FIX appaear is the one that gets you out of the exponential scientific mode.

Good luck

Hello,
Yes it does. All scientific calculators do logs, power, roots, exponential, trigonometric functions. Most do also hyperbolic and inverse hyperbolic functions.
Hope it helps.

And also in Excel you can determine what the square root of 2 is (2.506628274631) and then in Excel = 5 ^ 2.506628274631 = 56.5012395907155.

I know this is late but maybe it will help later. Assuming I am doing it right. Thanks!
