My Symphonic MT S/SAP TV has BA4.0.15EB across the screen and none of the buttons work. You can see the Direct TV image but there is no sound. You cannot change volume or shut it off by the button--only if you unplug from the electrical outlet. Do you have any suggestions?

I HAVE A SYMPHONIC 19 IN B-19WM AND I DONT HAVE THE ORIG. REMOTE..I HAVE TRIED TO PROGRAM IT WITH RCA RCU704 SERIES UNIVERSIAL REMOTE AS WELL AS A ATLAS OCAP 5 DEVICE UNIVERSAL REMOTE AND NONE OF THE CODES...

Hello
You just buy one Philips Universal Remote control [MODEL NUMBER CL 034]. Symphonic is listed in its codes. Codes are: 0906 0520

Direct Code Entry

1. Press and hold the CODE SEARCH

button until the red indicator stays

on, then release the CODE SEARCH

button.

2. Press and release the desired Mode

button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red

indicator blinks, then stays lit.

3. Enter the 4 digit code from the code

tables. Note: after a valid code entry,

the red indicator turns off. For an

invalid code, the red indicator

flashes.

4. With your device on, press

CHANNEL UP. If the device

responds, no further programming is

required. Note: If some buttons do

not operate your device, try one of
the other codes for your brand.
OK.

No audio on only some stations

Apparently the TVGOS (TV Guide On Screen) signal on CBS stations (since the 6/12/09 digital changeover) can cause the sound to be missing on those channels. Use the SAP button on the remote to page through the SAP options. When you return to the normal setting the sound will be restored. This problem should not occur again unless the SAP button is pressed.

No sound on channels that have SAP instead of Stereo

You can access the menus using the buttons on the set. Go to audio menu, you'll find a setting that says listen to and have choices of mono stereo or sap, choose stereo.

Tv audio feed

You most likely have the SAP mode activated. Look for a button on your remote or an item in the on-screen menus of your television called MTS or SAP. You want to set this to "Normal" or "Stereo" (or even "MONO") mode to hear the regular television sound.

If it is in SAP (Secondary Audio Program) mode, as I believe yours is, you will hear other audio. Often this is a translation to another language, such as Spanish, and other times (notably with PBS stations) it is an unrelated audio (often music) feed.

No Sound

First of all try getting a Symphonic remote - http://www.miracleremote.com/ not that expensive. Then you can access all areas of the TV, including all sub menus and see how the audio is set-up.. Could be you have it in SAP mode, (Second Audio Programming), in which case you will hear nothing...

Symphonic SC3919

most likely your channels are in SAP mode, you need to set them up as stereo via the menu. Remote code should be 044. For VCR. turn TV to channel 2 or 3 then press VCR button
