You will need to look at the serial number of the unit. There may also be a date code on the unit itself. If there is not a date code, then the serial number will contain the year of manufacture. Its typically within the first 4 letters or numbers of the serial number. Look for any numbers that resemble a year that may suit the age of the unit. If you cannot determine age, gather the model/serial and call a local parts house and ask for the year of manufacture. They should have no problems attaining that information for you.
Depending on age of the unit. The compressor amy under warranty. The replacement is something that should be done by a service tech. You have 3,5 ton unit Rus
its a 3 ton unit manufactured in 2005
the 36 in the model number indicates tonnage 12,000 btu's to a ton times 3 equals 36
the 2005 in the serial indicates year made not sure what month but if i had to guess i'd say May of '05
Thanks Peyton
Look at the compressor for a date code. Some compressor manufacturers have the date code as part of the serial number. First two digits are for the year and followed a letter for the month of manufacture.
