I want to stop the watch from beeping every hour. It is an analog watch with only one turn style dial on the side. There isn't any mention of the beeping in the small 2 page manual.

If the 2 dots (colon) on your time display are flashing you need to press START/STOP. I have had this problem for ages and it's been driving me mad, but just re-read the instructions for the 100th time and spotted it - it's the last sentence in the SET TIME-DATE section.
Hope that helps!
I have a Timex Men's Classic Digital Silver-Tone Expansion Band Watch #T78587. To turn the chime on and off on this watch, I press the Start/Stop button on the top right once. This toggles the chime on and off. If you hear a single beep then you have turned it on. If you hear no beep you have turned it off. You can tell the chime setting by looking at the colon seperator between the hours and minutes. If it is flashing then the chime is on and if it is not flashing then the chime is off. This is not explained in my watch manual nor in any of the manuals I downloaded from Timex.com.
You have a feature on your watch labled OPTION. You can find this by pushing the topright button on your watch until it appears on the screen. then scroll down using the knob until you find hourly beep. From here you can turn it on or off.
To turn off the hourly beep: While holding the lap/reset button down, press the mode button. When all 7 day flags show, the hourly chime is on. When no day flags show, the chime is off.
in order to unset the military time on the watch you must hold down the two top buttons until the the 12 hour format comes back. in order to turn off the alarm you must hold down the two right buttons until they beep..and then the alarm will go off
