I have a Simrad AP26 Autopilot on a 28' Center Console with "virtual Steering". The auto pilot will not hold course in Auto or Nav "go to". Have changed out the computer with no improvement. The control head seems to be working ok as it indicates the boat should be correcting course say to Starboard but the engines are not being turned to make that correction. There is no air in the line - been checked. The unit worked fine for 2 years and now won't work. I made a slow turn/circle and the course readings reflected my Ritchie compass so I don't think it is the Autopilot Rate Compass. I have done Dockside settings and Sea trial Settings. Any thoughts or recommendations.

I am not familiar with your particular model autopilot, but I do know that Raymarine autopilots can be fussy. All must have a compatible gps feeding it, of course. All must have a rudder angle indicator if your auto pilot connects to the wheel or rudder instead of directly to the tiller.
your magneto is shorting [ arcing on high needs, openup and replace magneto. call minkota and order a new magneto for your model, unless under warrantee.
I think you use the NMEA output to the autopilot .
The plotter shows you only when you have a seatalkconection with a Raymarine autopilot on you Plotter
Normally this is the electric motor causing this problem. Just went on a call and had the same thing. Checked voltage coming from the AC unit to the motor and had 12 vdc then put a new one in it's place and it solved the problem. You don't have to change the pump portion, just change the motor itself. Indeed you will have fluid leaking but many times it's better than plumbing in a new pump.
