SOURCE: error problem while downloading updates

1. Before doing anything else, write down the .NET Framework versions which
are already installed:

whether service packs have been applied

Updates fail

Microsoft have a .net removal tool which is sometimes helpful to do before reinstalling framework.if this does not work you need a full uninstaller like revo run it and remove scan registry markers.make sure firewall is off and mse is off before reinstalling fresh framework.
last resort is to reinstall over existing Os ...not fresh install!,, then update framework.this is because Microsoft employ too many cooks and the broth is inedible!

Believed me you have to reinstall your operating system. I encountered that problem too. I uninstall and re-installed .NET, update windows service packs nothing happened until I reformat the hard drive and install the operating system again.
remember format the hard drive first then install the operating system (backup your data first)

How to install . NET framework: v4.0.30319

Go to http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/netframework/aa569263.aspx and install that version of .NET.

When it is done installing, have Windows Update check for updates by typing "windows update" into the search box and pressing enter, and on the left side click "Check for updates".

This should take care of any errors.

The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135).

When attempting to run Microsoft .Net based applications, you may get the following error on startup:
The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135)
The cause of this error is that the Microsoft .Net framework is not installed or is damaged in some way. Therefore applications will fail to launch.
To fix this error you can run Windows Update and find the Microsoft .Net framework update to install. Alternatively, you can download the Microsoft .Net Framework directly from Microsoft.

It sounds like you have an application that is using the .NET Framework. Uninstall .NET Framework v2 from Control Panel, Add-Remove programs.
Re-install the .NET Framework software by running your windows update. Don't forget to rerun the windows update until there is no more update. Throughout the process you will need to reboot. Once completed reinstall your game.

Hi hyarmenion_1

Updates are used to remove some bugs(errors), more features and new versions.

If you have installed net.framwork you can use Windows update to install additional updates. You can find it in Internet Explorer under Functions.

For the LifeCam 2.07 software it shoud be a update feature in the program.

Hope that helps
IF NOT then try to return here

Microsoft lifecam 2.07 installation problems - Infinite loop

In my case the LifeCam 2.07 installation problems on Win XP SP3 were related to Microsoft .NET Framework. Figured this out by looking into the temporary directories LifeCam installation creates - it seemed like it was repeatedly extracting and trying to install .NET 3.0 without success. Fixed this by installing .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 and all following updates from Windows Update first. Then the LifeCam installation worked fine.
