Scanner errors are as follows for that model:

Scanner error #

1 = dark find
2 = LMW temp find
3 = bulb warm up from off
4 = bulb warm up from coarse
5 = cal label find
6 = doc original find
7 = LMW final find
8 = cal label find after scan
9 = cal label find prior to standby
10 = doc original find prior to standby
11 = bulb warm up from standby

I would see if there is an original on the flatbed glass (platen), or if something is obstructing the scanner view.

If the error persists, replace the scanner
assembly or the formatter pcb

HP All-in-One 3055 "Scanning Error 6" What can we do?

Hi Cherylanne, Give this a try: Scanner Error 6 Turn off then on

1. Clean Glass Scanner Bed.

  • If the glass scanner bed is too dirty or smeared with fingerprints and such, you may get this error. It will not clear itself simply by turning off and on the printer such as the message suggests. Even a build up of dust can cause this. It is triggering a reaction caused by a sensor in the scanner. If you clean it good and then power cycle it, the problem should go away. THIS PROCEDURE FIXED THE PROBLEM FOR THE AUTHOR.

2. Try the NVRAM INITZ reset procedure. REF

  • switch off the printer, then remove all cables connecting to the printer but just the power cable.
  • then press and hold the *(start/symoble) and 5 button togather and turn on the printer.
  • continue holding the button till you see "perment storage init" displayed and releas the button.
  • then at a given point of time the printer will ask you to change laguage,time,date etc.

3. Remove paper scrap or dust obstructing scanner or sensor. REF

4. Clean sensor / remove the glass and clean the bulb and mirrors. REF

  • turn off power
  • remove ADF and inspect blew out any dust
  • unclipped control panel cover and removed top platen cover 4 torx screws
  • inspected and dusted (blew out) the scanner
  • put platen cover back again and placed 5 sheets new paper over right side (where scanner is) and turned on came up happy
  • turned off reinstalled ADF (cleaned the white surface first) turned on again

5. Scanner Bulb is not getting to the alignment area.

Scanner errors on HP 3330, 3380 and other 33XX Printer/Scannners

baronvonnuke.jpg
1. Turn off printer and unplug power.

2. Lift up scanner lid so that you can see the scanning glass

3. Locate the screw on the top left side next to the small window of glass. (1 in picture) This glass is the section used for scanning from the automatic document feeder. Remove that screw and then the plastic that it was holding. Lift the glass out.

4. With the glass removed you can see the drive belt for the scanner. You need to rotate it until the scanner head moves to the left far enough that you can see the top of the moving part of the scanner. You will see a thin light bulb and a slot. Do not touch the lightbulb, it is fragile. You may need to pull on the assembly to move it the last bit to access the slot

5. Use a flashlight to see down into the slot, you will see a thin mirror that runs the width of the slot. If that mirror is dirty, that may be the problem and it needs to be cleaned.

6. Use a q-tip moistened with either alcohol or window cleaner to gently clean the mirror. Make sure you do not leave any lint in there.

7. Replace the glass and turn printer back on. If this is going to work it should come to ready.

Scanner error message hp laserjet 3030

This problem has to do with the scanner mirror. You may hear a grinding sound, also. The reason it does this is because the scanner bulb cannot find 'home', so it keeps trying to find it. Well, it uses the mirrors to reflect on another object inside the scanner to tell it when to stop. The mirror on top of the right next to the scanner bulb may need to be cleaned. This works every time for me, except the same problem always comes back sooner or later.
how to clean-
1.unplug your scanner
2.notice the glass covering on the left side, it can be removed with a Phillips screwdriver. Unscrew the plastic surrounding the glass and then remove the glass covering.
3.Plug the scanner back in and wait for the scanner to move left and then unplug it before it starts moving to the right. Repeat this until scanner bulb is all the way on the left of the machine.
-an alternative method-
with the glass covering removed, use a pair of pliers to move the small belt that moves the scanner bulb. keep moving it until the scanner bulb is all the way on the left of the machine.
4.With the scanner bulb assembly in reach, grab a Q-tip and gently clean the mirror that is just to the right of the bulb. You might want a flashlight to see the dirt and dust.
5. Put the glass covering back on.
6. Plug in the scanner.
At first to me it seemed like it wouldn't work, but it does.
Hope it helps. Reply back if it does.

HP Laserjet 3055 with "scanner error 6 - turn off and on" error AND MORE SPAM AT 1-800-532-4187

hp laserjet 3055 by scanner error 6
Solution: I found a very small piece of paper between the glass and the scanner housing. The lamp's seen that and sent the error message. Nobody find that little stucked paper and the "IT expert" sad: need to buy a new machine because he can't repair it. So, sometimes the solution is very easy just need some attention. :)
