Replaced my old 2wire 1800HG with a new one and can't connect it

My old 2wire 1800HG router stopped working wirelessly and it only worked when I plugged the ethernet cable into my computer directly. I just bought a new 2wire 1800HG router and I've got a solid orange broadband link light. I'm on a Mac with OS 10.4 and I'm trying to connect with the Airport. I've entered the new password as found on the bottom of the router and it says "error". Any advice?

Hi!
first of all, let's try to make the broadband link light turn green. open any browser, go the modem's UI by typing gateway.2wire.net or homeportal/setup on the address bar, follow the onscreen instructions on running the system setup wizard. it should make the broadband link green now. for wireless connection, click on the airport icon, and select on the SSID or network name in the drop down menu. if ssid is not on the drop down menu, click on other. type the SSID in the network name field and wireless security is none. (SSID is the last 3 nos. of the SN)

How to connect to XboxLive via 1800HG 2WIRE+Linksys adaptor?

The easiest way to connect to Xbox Live without using your pc is to buy a
wireless network adapter for your Xbox.

You would then go into the system settings on the Xbox and configure the settings for your wireless network.

Samsung bd-p1600 wireless connection to 2wire 1800HG router

Check CNET Samsung forum. There are several posts with the same problem. A couple solutions and basic confirmation that Samsungs newest fireware is bad. I wish their support helpdesk would realize that instead of telling me to contact my router support.

2wire 1800hg-- HomePNA stopped working

What you can do, is take the HPNA adapter from the back of the computer and plug the phone cable portion of it directly to the 1800hg's phone port. Since your 1800hg only has 1 phone port though it will not surf the internet, but this is a suggestion to try to make sure the inside wiring in your house is not bad. If you do this though your computer should say its connected, if it doesnt then it could be a driver issue or the phone cable in the HPNA adapter (try a new one then). If its the driver then try support.2wire.com for the regular usb drivers.

1800 hg 2 wire wireless

1.can i use my 2wire 1800hg with vista?hooked up to ethernet connection.- yes its possible make sure you enable dhcp on your lan side of you router and under tcp/ip on your pc set it to authomatic assign IP address and dns server address. most router use 192.168.1.1 as thier default address to access it.

to fix your passkey problem.need to access the router and try to change the passkey then save and don't forget to restart the router after you save it,by unplugging it. "make sure your passkey is 8 characters long"

Unable to actually connect to the internet?

Have you tried restarting your router? If not, try unplugging the ac power from the router, wait 30 seconds, and plug it back in. That will usually take care of this problem. If that doesn't work, you can try going into "manage your wireless connections", delete your wireless network from the list, then reconnect to your network.
