How do i fix this??? plz help

    how do I fix this problem? DST test fail! then, when I restart my computer sometimes theres a display sometimes nothing. can you help me on this?

    my unit is: DELL LATITUDE C640i
    1.8 GHZ
    256 MB RAM
    6.5 GB HDD

    I change my HDD because the original HDD is 30 GB cannot be detect. thats why I change to 6.5 GB becuase thats the only HDD available for me...

    Please help me to solve this problem..

Now wait, just because your computer can't detect the the 30 GB HD doesn't mean that it won't work. Run disc defragmenter, which might help with your sometimes not seeing your display, and also do a disk cleanup. You can actually connect one of the hard drives to the other as a slave, and use both. But Dell support is really quite helpful, and I suggest that you give them a call. Or see if there are downloads available from their support. Good luck.

Getting error code 1000-0141 on dell latitude c400

User your win xp disk in the drive and boot it. At the command prompt typed chkdsk and then press enter.
Should find and fix any problems it comes along to find...Hope this helps!

Error code 1000-0146

The hard drive has failed. You need a new 2.5" IDE laptop hard drive which are only about $60-$120 depending on capacity. You will then need to reload Windows XP and all your programs. Hopefully you have the dell "resource cd" which has drivers on it as well and an XP install CD.

I would get a hard drive from www.newegg.com they have reasonable prices. Just make sure NOT to get a SATA drive.
