I have acer 4810tz-4508 Purchased 11/09. For some time the screen goes white and can't come back. I tap it and sometimes comes back. Now its white and can't get back. Help
Please check all your connections are ok on both side (on Motherboard and backside of the Screen), Re-connect both, If it is still shows same problem, their will be a hardware problem with screen (LCD/LED) or Motherboard graphics... you can confirm it by connecting to an external monitor using a VGA cable

Everytime I open my laptop the screen turns white and i have to work with it 3 quarters of the way closed for the screen not to be white
A white screen indicates that the video data cable is not connected. Either the cable is coming loose when you open the screen or there is a break in the cable. Someone will have to open the case to find out which.

Completely white? No icons or "sad" ipod symbol?

Static buildup will make the ipod screen pale white/grey. If it were a black screen, I'd say update and reformat but static kills the unit.

You still might have a problem with your connector. It might have a cold soldered joints. Try to power on your laptop with no keyboard cover in the way were you can have an access to the place where cable is connected to your motherboard then try to wiggle it a little. If your video is coming up and down, you have a cold soldered joints. Another considerations would be:
1. Your LCD cable
2. Your LCD goes bad

White screen
White screen usually means the display itself (not the inverter, but the panel) has gone bad.Could go in and check the ribbon cable connection to the mainboard and see what happens. More than likely you need to replace the panel. Sorry.
