Could you pls provide more specific info about your phone, such as the phone make/model, provider, even region, whether the phone is under warranty etc. It seems the internal hardware is ok, but screen is having damage. Did you try making/receiving a call (if possible) to see whether all those function. If you could, a screen replacement might do the trick. If you are savvy enough, just google "your phone model no" + screen replacing ( or assembly) and you can buy most screens on ebay.


I asked for your provider & region because, I or somebody else could offer an advice regarding your carrier phone replacement policy. It doesn't hurt to give them a call and inquiring the possibilities of getting a new phone too.

Hi, Try replacing the battery. It is the main cause why it doesn't work. Many batteries don't take a charge after many uses. This is called internal discharge.

first,It that the display IC has gone. It needs a replacement. Please take the phone to Nokia Care and get the IC replaced.you can do easily if the LCD of your phone will change..

You should not have to do anything to make the base find the phone line as long as it's plugged into a working phone jack and the AC power is on.

Have you tested the phone jack where you are connecting the base to be sure it's working? You can check with a simple, basic corded type phone. (You should have one of these on hand anyway, in case your power goes out. Without AC power, cordless phones won't work since their base unit would be off. The basic corded phone gets its power from the phone line so it will keep going. It's a good thing to have.) Plug the phone in and see if you have dialtone at the jack. You don't know what kind of phones the former residents had and how their jacks were wired. The one you're using may have been set up on a second line, for example.

If you don't find dialtone at the jack, you can try others and move the base unit as necessary, or see about having the wiring corrected. The model number of your phone is a UK version, and I don't know the rules regarding who can do telephone wiring there. Here in the US you can do the work yourself, hire a contractor, or contact the telephone service provider.

If you find the jack is working, something may have happened to the cordless base unit during the move. Try another cord; maybe the one you're using was damaged. Then your remaining option is to see about servicing or replacing the phone if it's still not working.

Leave the battery out overnight...if that don't work, the phone is fried... hopefully you have the insurance on it and they will replace it...

It sounds like you've been very lucky in the past! Usually when a phone gets exposed to liquid, it immediately and irreparably damages the phone. In this scenario it seems that the water hadn't reached a critical part of the phone yet, when it did, the phone stopped working. See if your carrier offers accidental damage replacement and go from there. If they don't then try sticking your phone in a bag of rice for a day or 2. This will absorb moisture from the phone and hopefully allow it to work. Otherwise you will have to replace your phone! I hope this helps, please don't forget to rank my answer! Have a great day!

Seems like a damaged LCD strip or damaged LCD as a whole. will need replacement.

remove the battery and replace it after a minute.
the phone should do a full boot.
see if it works after.
if nothing happens, you may just have to replace the battery.
You don;t want to format anything unless you know how to reflash the phone.

I think the degitizer (touch screen ) is faulty.
Replace it.
